I'm also in my 20! (21) and I paid off my 2012 G myself in less than a year.
These forums are nowhere near as bad as the Facebook groups though... You see some interesting things over there, like huge wings... on a G37 sedan........................................ Why?

1. What oil should I use?
2. Will this fit my car?
3. Anyone else have this on their car?
4. What do these lights mean? (Usually VDC/slip/TPMS)
5. Where can I buy parts for my car?
It's a nightmare over there.

It's a 1991 944 S2 Convertible. They only imported a total of 2400 of them from 1990 - 1991 (plus 16 badged as 1989's). Mine is one of only 510 imported in 1991 and I'll bet that only half of those are still on the road. It's been years since I've actually seen another one on the road here in SoCal.
Hahaha. Great point, Andy! Enjoy your last 1.5 years of "youngness" because once you hit 30 it's all down hill from there and that hill gets even steeper once you hit 40.

Of course there are always exceptions like you and Andy. I actually would have never guessed you were that young from reading your posts. You certainly come off as a very mature 21. And congrats on being able to pay for your beautiful G all on your own!

If I could list the 5 most common questions on the Facebook groups, they would be the following:
1. What oil should I use?
2. Will this fit my car?
3. Anyone else have this on their car?
4. What do these lights mean? (Usually VDC/slip/TPMS)
5. Where can I buy parts for my car?

Noticed today my V1 wasn't on, which was odd, because it powered on. Unplugged it, plugged it back in, and it powered up and cycled, then turned off.
Tried it in wifeys car and it worked fine.
So something would seem to be wrong with the lighter outlet. Thoughts?
Edit: V1 = radar detector

On Jan 31, it will have been five full years of ownership, on a 10 year(ish) plan. In so far as plans go, I try and schedule one significant mod a year, and a handful of small stuff. Going forward, the things on my significant list are tuning and brakes. There's also all new tires... which is equally if not more expensive. And there's the mod already in the works, swapping rear gears for 4.083 hardware this spring.
This is absolutely my last year on these PSS, so summer tire replacement has to happen Spring of 2018. Since I'm only at 33k miles, and my Akebono BBK is still in good shape, I can likely put off brakes into 2018/2019. And unless tuning gets put off into the last year or two, seems I may wany to consider that sooner than later.
I'm thinking out loud here. Not sure where I'm going with this, except that I've been spending a lot of time with the iPad, thinking about brakes and tuning.
There's a tuning shop west of Boston that seems to have an awesome rep, who tunes the G/Z with experience in both Uprev and EcuTek.

+1 for Kaizen Tuning Rochester. I know one the guys that works there personally. Waiting to get my test pipes in before I go for a tune. They usually have a decent size wait list if I recall correctly.

There's a fairly well known tuning & speed shop called STM (Street Tuned Motorsports). It's primarily a shop for Evo's and GTR's, and they've been saying they're going to get an Uprev tuner's liscense. It would be a fantastic thing if they did, because aside from their reputation, they just happen to be right here in Rochester, NY. Not waiting on them, or anything, but it sure would be convenient.
STM | STREET TUNED MOTORSPORTS | USA-MADE PARTS | RACING PERFORMANCE & DYNO TUNING
[edit]
I've been in email contact with STM since yesterday. They're still expecting to come online with G/Z tuning services, hopefully this year. Since STM has a huge rep in the Evo world, I've offered my car as a mule to shake things out (no pun).
So... possibilities. Worse case, I make a Boston road trip when tuning becomes next-mod.

Can anyone recommend a good set of interior LEDs that 1) are similar brightness to OEM lights and 2) are pure white (no blue tint)? Put LEDs in my old car, but they were far too bright (blinding even) and had an undesirable blue hue.
Reached out to VLED & DD about this but came up inconclusive.
Any help much appreciated, thanks
