Zahy what about Ferarri Yellow with red decals? I think it would bring out both your rims and VR sedan.

Not red flake in black paint... that would end up looking brown in the wrong light. Just basic, heavy metallic black. Again... like the way Cadillac paints their cars. Just not the whole car, that looks gaudy (like a Cadillac, LOL)

Sean has already gone with that combo though so I'd wanna be somewhat unique. It does look great though.

I like where this is going, I'd like some sort of metallic flake in the powdercoat/paint so the calipers still have some "pop". (to an extent)

I'm ~3 months out from the install of thede calipers, my powdercoater in NJ is going to get tired of me changing my mind.

I not the arbiter of good taste by any means, so...

But I think that's right in the wheel-house there. Especially, with your smoked chrome and VR. Something to think about. Perhaps if you have an idea of the price (which I certainly don't), you could kick it around vs. paint.

I wouldn't think of it as a stand-alone number, just incremental cost over paint. (At least that's the type of thinking that usually gets me in deep by about 175% of my original estimate...lol )

Sean

PS - Zahy: Are your wheels electroplated or PC? Can't remember...

I'm down for either PC or paint. Which ever will hold up better overtime.

My wheels are black chrome PVD (physical vapor disposition). So it's more of a plating process, very durable finish.

Painting should be cheaper and you won't have to reseal your calipers, not that that's a big deal though. Wish JPSBlack was still around here, bet he'd come up with an awesome result. I'd imagine a quality paint job w/ a strong clear coat would hold up about as well as a powder coat but ???

Are you referring to Jon Paul? The painter? He still does calipers actually, I'm friends with him on Facebook. But I think shipping is a hassle.

Two more car payments to go. Maybe three... IDK, the wife manages it.

Point is, I'm almost done. It's been a fun 5 years. And unless I total the car (yikes!), expect me around for another five years.

Yeah, that would be him, he's an artist w/ that paint gun and I think even with shipping you couldn't do any better from what I've seen.

+1 to that, judging by the pictures I've seen scattered throughout of his work
