That blue looks gorgeous on your car! im going to eventually do something similar but with a dark metallic blue, which will be my accent color on my car. Congrats that looks great!

That looks great, IMO!!! Love that color. That's a real personal touch that should make you feel good every time you see it.

Well my car got broken into last night/or early this morning i should say, no alarm went off. They didn't break any glass or jimmy the door. I guess they just pushed the unlock button on the door handle and viola, door open? I always lock my doors when i get out of the car, it's a habit. No other explanation i can think of. Nothing irreplaceable was taken. About $4 in quarters i use at the car wash to spray off dirt and pollen and a rag i wrap up my work tools up in when i get off work (WTF, a rag?). All which were in the center console. A case of CDs, $200 pair of Oakleys, and a cell phone charger weren't taken.

This is why i back my G into the parking spot with my wheels against the curb and the FI cans just barely hanging over the yard in fear of my mufflers getting stolen. If they want them, they'll have to go through hell and high water to get'em. But if they really want them they'll need nothing more than a hacksaw and the next thing you know i'll be riding around with a muffler delete....

(nothing against muffler deletes, just not my thing, it's why i paid $1,600 and waited 3 months for a CBE...)

Really sucks because i had just PM'd Brad a couple days ago about wheel specs and was ready to pull the trigger on a set early next week. That mod will be put on hold till i take some of that money i saved up to purchase the wheels and put it toward an actual car alarm/security system. Seeing as how i don't currently have one on my car at the moment....

Sorry to hear that!!

They used the rag to carry the 16 quarters so they would be easier to handle and wouldn't jingle...

I'm going to test my alarm ASAP to see what's up with that.

Good luck,
Sean

I was thinking the same thing.

My mom woke up a little early this morning, around 4ish i think, and i turned on the light. Maybe that scared the person away, why they didn't take anything else. I had about $5 in quarters in the door handle....

Sorry to hear that happened. I don't understand how they could have broken into the car w/o actually breaking something and unlocking the door... that's really odd. Good thing nothing serious was taken.

Good thing nothing important was stolen. Think of this as the universe telling you that a security system should be on the top of your mod list now.

Back in 2012, my friend's G37xS got hijacked at his building's valet. The thief made off with unworn boxers and a pair of Ray Bans after ditching the car, which was unharmed.

Glad to hear that thief only took what he took. Too bad you have to put your plans on hold but sounds like you're investing in something potentially more important than wheels.

For the break ins they're using a booster to increase the range of your remote then catching the correct frequency making the car think your key is in proximity so it will unlock.

John please don't show me anymore Mazdas. I have my eye on two 93 RX7 TTs now...

Is there anything that can combat the booster? Taking out the battery in the key fob at night etc...

I planned on getting a good alarm system, i just didn't plan on getting it this early. Oh well....

RX7 with an LS1 is what I want as a "Toy car".

I normally just press door the door button to lock all the doors. I don't use the remote.
