Anyone know what's supposed to be hanging from this hanger?
 
Piece was on the ground after I took my exhaust apart, it's about 2.5" long

Did you drop your OEM muffler or something? It looks like an OEM hanger that goes into the rubber mounts.

Hmm, I removed my OEM exhaust about 18 months ago, maybe it's been hanging on for dear life all that time, thanks!
