Ive been shopping around now for a cool looking sunshade for my sedan i just dont want a plain one.I ran into this u basically mounted it to the winshield and it retracts, what do you guys think? does it look tacky and cheap?

I'm unhappy with my sunscreen as well, but haven't really done anything about it, so I'm in for some discussion here.

This Eclipses shade is an interesting idea, although if you watch this video it's pretty obvious how much this obstructs vision next to the A-pillars. And yes, it does look pretty tacky and cheap, the $50 ask notwithstanding. To me this looks like something that might be more appropriate on a RV or large truck.

Anyway, Covercraft looks like a quality product for the same price ($50-ish): UVS100 Heat Shields - UV Protection for the Interior

They seem sturdy, one side reflective and one side felt. And they come in 5 different colors. The Blue Metallic looks pretty nice.

Here's a video, to get a sense of what they're like. (Not that a sunshade needs a how-to video, but whatever.)

I've pretty much given up on my sunshade, its such a pain to put away and i use to put it on the floor or on the rear seats, but it takes up a good amount of room so I would end up putting it in the trunk and just stopped using it all together. Like Rodchester I'm in for discussion purposes hopefully for a better solution then what's currently available.

I've got the Covercraft, best one out there IMO, the fit is custom and it really does what you're buying these for, to keep out the heat. They are a bit large when folded up compared to the cheaper foil-type shields but are custom fit and sturdy. The only thing you need to watch is these things get hotter than hell, almost have to wear gloves when you're taking them off the dash. Ours is the metallic blue and looks nice from the outside too.

If you have your car back from the body shop, can you toss the shade in and take a picture? I'd like to see the look and fitment of the Covercraft on a G-Sedan.

I've had at least 6 Covercraft sunshields for various cars I've owned since 1991. They're really great!! The fitment has been excellent on every one of them.
I don't have one for my G37 (since I rarely park it outside a garage at home or work) or I would post a photo.

BTW, fitment is spot-on, and I think you'd like the ligt blue color, would go well w/ your white G IMO.

I concur. Covercraft sunshade is a 100% fit. Ok.. maybe more like 98.5%. I also have them on multiple vehicles. A lot of people ask where I got them because they fit like a glove to the windshield. Costs around $50 but worth every penny. Car is dirty or I would shoot a quick pic.

I picked the standard quick deploy sun shade from Walmart. You know the fabric one that folded and opened quickly. I have one of these custom shades and it is bulky, takes forever to open and close.

I have no problem w/ the Covercraft as far as laying it on the dash, it is solid and won't just conform under the seat etc. but IMO it's worth it for the fit and the fact it really does keep your cabin significantly cooler than other sunshades. But it does get scorching hot to the touch when removing it on a hot summer day.
