Broke off Side Passanger Mirrir can't get Connector Out!

2 Attachment(s)
Broke off side Pass. side mirror backing into driveway and hitting a full heavy plastic trash can:eek:

Ordered 2 parts from Infiniti parts and they just came. They were BLACK:D like my Car. Thought they would be primered Gray and would have to paint it.

I Ordered parts: 5 & 6. I pulled and ripped off Part # 6 with a pair of pliers to get the mirror off as it was hanging down and I couldn't drive like that. Had to take off the inside door panel to disconnect it.

My MAIN Issue is I can't get the black wire through the hole in Part #5. the connector is TOO BIG to fit through:rolleyes: I assume it has to be disconnected from inside the actual dome of the mirror, Behind the Glass.

I took off the cover and it appears the connector is behind the mirror, BUT, don't know how to take it off so I can unplug the black taped up wire that's threaded through Part #5. It is NOT the BIG Connector you see on TOP of the open mirror, it is BEHIND that, or if you looked at the FRONT of the Mirror, where you look at when driving, it appears to be connected Behind there.

Here is the Wire and Connector that won't slide through the hole on the Mirror Base.

It's the wire with the Blue, Pink, Pink Yellow that looks to be connected behind the Mirror that I need to unplug so I can get off the #5 Piece.

Could always cut it and solder it back.

OR

Take each individual clip out of the white plastic thing (assuming that's not what's fitting through the hole) out with a jewelers pick set, then put them all back in after. Make sure you take a picture of what wire goes where first of course.

Only 2 options I see.

Personally, I would do the first one. Little easier and less room for breaking stuff.

Maybe disconnecting the other end of the harness?.....idk

Any way you could make the hole just big enough to get the plug through the hole :dunno:

Thanks guys! YES I thought of cutting out to get it out. Don't have anything off hand to do it with. That plastic is HARD! Tried to rip it with vice grips, no luck!

I am NOT as concerned with getting it OFF (I can saw it off), but more concerned with how to get it back on with my New Mirror Base I purchased. There HAS to be a way to do this. I think the solutio0n lies Behind the Mirror. LOL

Sounds like a Book!

I can't be the only dumbass that broke their mirror off and didn't go to Infiniti to spend $500 to get it fixed. You can buy the entire mirror for $100 aftermarket, BUT wasn't sure it would connect the same.

Thanks for the suggestions!

I guess I would do as Rad suggested.....cut all the wires and splice them back together:

Thanks that helped out. I am nto great at soldering, but I see it can be done. Also, was thinking to bring it to a local body shop (In a cheap an area of town that has smaller shops).

I bet if I brought the parts to them, they could install it for $75-$100. Then they could put the door on right and make sure everything is done right.

Parts were only $48!
