Decided to post this here instead of creating a new thread. I have a 2011 G where one of the stock headlights went out. It can be turned on by rotating the dial a few times, but I'm guessing I need to bite the bullet and buy a new pair.

Based on comments here, I'm looking at the following:
Morimoto: https://www.theretrofitsource.com/co...to-xb-hid.html

Diode Dynamics: Replacement OEM HID Bulbs for 2009-2011 Infiniti G37 Sedan (pair)

Is either better than the other and the bigger question what color? I want a whiter light than my stock lights. Morimoto comes in 5500k or 6500k and the DD comes in 5000k or 6000k (also have 8000k, but probably too blue). Suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

I got those Morimotos. I totally forgot what color temp i got, but it was a little whiter than the stocks. I'm happy with them, they are very bright.

That's bull crap, iCrap

An earlier poster mentioned he bought the 5500k Morimotos and they looked like stock. Hoping to figure out the right answer.

Have to also remember, my original ones were 10 years old. That's why I replaced them, the stock ones had gotten dimmer over time.

Good point. I also just found your other headlight thread. Apparently, you bought the 5500k

Or if you have deep pockets buy the Osram CBI bulbs. They cost $185/pair and are the Rolls Royce of all headlight bulbs.

Those two bulbs are 100% guaranteed to work with our Infiniti headlights which are very well known for being picky when it comes to cheap quality HID bulb replacements.

Osram CBI are actually oem quality whereas Morimotos are aftermarket but very high quality aftermarket brand.

Xenon depot is ehh...

Those are my headlights in my 2011 with Osram CBI bulbs. Very white

Not a really good picture but heres a glimpse of the light output on the back wall.

The bright white light output you see in front of the bumper is actually from my 5000K LED fog lights from VLEDS
Bump, Those company's don't make 8000k bulbs (probably due to the loss of light output), what would be the best 8000k bulb there is? I'm have the Osram CBI and they are definitely the best, but I want a little more Blue, but every 8000k bulb I get has the flash issue and need to be warmed.

The Retrofit Source is a great place for light related items, I changed out my stock Xenon lenses for the STI-R lenses and it's a great swap, much cleaner cutoff and adds just a slight bit of blue in the color. But having to remove the lights, then the lens covers it's best to do this when you're already planning on painting the headlight bezels & shrouds as it's quite a PITA.

BTW, great pic Dragion!
Do you have instructions for a teardown of the headlights? I am planning to do the sti lense swap.
