Hey everyone

So I recently purchased the H&R DRM series 15mm spacer. When I try to install it on my car, the original studs are sticking out of the spacer so I cant fit the wheel on the face of the spacer.

I was wondering if anyone has similar problem to that and what are the solutions to it?

Be more specific please.

There are 2 instances I can think of:

1
The rotor hold down nut hasnt been removed, which is safe to do.
2
You have aftermarket wheels without recesses on the back side. In which case, you will need the DRS versions.

Well that does suck. According to this thread, 15mm spacers work fine with the OEM wheels.

Wait... which OEM wheels are you talking about here? I'm going to go out on a limb and suspect you have the non-Sport rims. Or maybe yours are aftermarket.

Oh yeah, Im running on my set of winter tires/wheels right now and I do not have recess behind the wheel. If Im planning to get aftermarket rims for the summer, would the DRS series be a better choice?

I have used 20mm DRM H&R spacers on OEM 18" sport wheels on my sedan and they fit fine. However I switched to DRS spacers because I dont like dealing with rounded nuts from installing them

I just checked my OEM 18"s wheels and they do have a recess on them. Hence I understand why the original lug nut is sticking out

Does anyone know if TSW wheels have a recess gap at the back of the wheel just like the OEM ones?

in my experience, the drms work with oem wheels BECAUSE there is a little cavity for the original studs to portude into. HOWEVER, i switched over to a set of the 370z stun rims (and i believe this is also true for their oems and many other aftermarket rims) and there is NO cavity and thus you CANNOT bolt on the DRMS unless they're 25mm or greater. 20mm seems to barely make it, but does not clear by a 1-2mm if you look closely.
solution: you'll have to go with drs, stud replacement type, if you want that size spacer with your current wheel setup. they aren't as "bad" as everyone makes them out to be. as long as they're purchased and installed correctly, you'll have no problems. heck, there are many people that track on them.

Is there a write by for the install of the DRS spacers? I called a local tire place and they told me that the studs are attached to the hub so its not possible to replacement OEM studs

I had H&R trac+ 20mm DRS spacers on my 2 previous FX's and had them installed and un-installed by my Infiniti Service.
Try your dealership's Service and see if they can do the install.
They OEM studs only need to be "knocked" out with a hammer...replace them with the extended studs.
