Changed my LSD and MT oil this weekend
This is not a DYI more like a FYI. Change my diff and mt oil this weekend. 32K miles on the clock, bought with 29K miles about 1 mounth now. Err'd on the side of caution and assumed the previous owner did not do any of the 30k suggested maint. Used Valvoline Synthetic Blend 80w-90 for the diff and oem nissan 75W-85 for MT. Glad I did it....oil in the diff was pretty dirty (see pic). MT oil wasn't too bad. Wasn't that difficult (used diy posts) and save $$. For those that keep putting it off....don’t procrastinate. Next on my list…clutch and brake fluid, radiator cap, cabin filter, engine air filter…

Solo I can't speak of the MT, but I have changed the diff twice so far (once to actually change the fluid, then once to get rid of the royal purple I put in for amsoil)
I personally did the diff with the car on the ground. You can get to everything without it jacked up...and my car is corner balanced to 25 7/8". I did not use new crush washers. No leaks, no problems.

It feels so much better DIY uh? Saved some money and made sure our car has good fluids.
Great job OP!
Hey Matt, why did you get rid of RP for Amsoil? I have it on my MT and feels pretty good.

Speed shop where i go told me that RP breaks down really easy and said that supposedly it isn't a true synthetic.
They sell both and the RP was more expensive than the amsoil...even though I didn't buy the RP from them. so I bought some amsoil to change it out just to be safe. Wasn't really a big deal for me...just didn't wanna take the chance of them being right.

Gotcha! Better safe than sorry right? Does it feel different than RP?
