2012 Newb - Video Help

Hello. Monday I became the proud new owner of a 2012 G37x with the non-nav Premium Package.

Hands down the nicest car I have owned to date.

I hate to post this and then find out that I over looked another thread, but I need some guidance.

My car only has the single USB input for audio. I would like to know if its possible to play video from the iPhone on the car. I understand that there are several factors such as being parked or if the vehicle is moving. I also understand that it may require an iphone Jailbreak.

I just would like to know what my actual options are and I can see what I can do from there. From everything I have read, the older model Gs seem to have more options in this area.

If there are any 2012 owners out there that have done something similar to what I am asking, please let me know.

Thank you!

I have played burnt DVDs but I have NAV. I *think* you may need NAV to play videos but I could be way off. My understanding is that you could play videos off a USB stick as well, but I don't know specifically about a iPhone.

You can play video from a USB memory stick but not from a smart phone.

The second generation 07-09 G35/37 (and the base model 2010 G37) have RCA jacks in the armrest, in the same location where we now have the USB port. With the RCA jacks you can play video from and iPod and pretty well any device that supports RCA output.
I had an 07G35X and could play video from my 60GB iPod video.

As with many other things, it's all explained in the owners manual

This may be useful for you too.

Thanks for all the responses. I understand the manual but the manual only addresses the G37 that has the NAV system.

My big question is what options do I have in terms of being able to play videos on my non-nav system. Is there a mod or after market board that can be installed?

My previous car was a Subaru Legacy GT and I was able to hijack the rear cam port in order to engage the video screen. I have googled and googled but have not found anything similar for the 2012 non-nav package.

Thanks again for all the help.
