Lease was ending soon on my 2009 G Sedan, so time to decide what to do...decided on a 2012 G37x Sedan, Malbec Black with Premium and Nav, Wheat interior with the maple trim and illuminated kickplates. Normally I wouldn't drop any money on that last one, but it doesn't add appreciably to the cost and it does look pretty cool. The maple trim isn't usually my thing, but I was really surprised how good it looks. The Malbec Black is really something, though, when it catches the light.

Going from an '09 to a '12, I really like the new touchscreen and the USB iPod connection--the iPod connection in the '09 wouldn't charge the thing, but it charges just fine on USB. As far as ride, handling, acceleration, etc. that's all the same as what I loved in my '09.

I'm definitely pleased with the car so far, my '09 G is the first car I've owned that I ever really loved and it looks like the '12 is just going to carry on with that.

Were both your Gs ATs? If so, how does the 7AT in your 12 compare to your 09s AT? Oh, & Congrats on the new G

Both 7ATs, but haven't done enough driving in the new one to compare. Initial impressions are it's a bit smoother. Acceleration in the '12 seems a bit peppier as well. All-in-all I'm very happy so far.

I'll put up some pics tomorrow hopefully, it got rained on before I had the chance to take any on Saturday. The illuminated kicks are pretty cool, even though I only got them because everything else in the car was what I wanted...

Yeah, I was leaning toward Blue Slate until I actually saw the Malbec in person. It's really neat.

I am 99% sure I will be buying a 2012 like yours next week. I would really appreciate a pic of the Malbec as they had to order one for me. Had a 2004 G35 so this will be a major upgrade for me (even though I had a TL inbetween).

Here ya go, Geezer. (I had an '04 G35 as well). Of course my buddy's like to eff with me about my "purple" car, but screw them bastids! I get more compliments on the color than anything else.

One guy was looking at it yesterday and said the color was "fascinating".
