The 3.7L isn't a very good engine...
....It's a f^$&incg amazing engine!
Holy crap - I was driving home from work (my g has 1175 miles so far) and was going about 80MPH - some psycho in a minivan was riding my ars - so I, not wanting to get a ticket, swicthed lanes and let her pass - then I thought to myself - WTF? A minivan just passed me? So I stepped on the gas (not too hard given I am still breaking in, but hard enough) and BOOM - I was doing 120MPH in a flash. The car felt glued and stable, and WOW - that was fun! This car is fast. |
this is supposed to be a paradox or something?...haha
title says one thing and your story says another. anyways, really glad you like your car  |

Yeah, these cars are simply amazing. You can go from 80MPH to 120MPH and not even feel it. Picks up speed pretty quickly, too!

You really have to be careful because the speed gets away from you in a hurry. The 7AT always seems to find the sweet spot with the engine.
On my way to work today I was going, uh, a little fast on the highway. A truck then swings in front of me. So I pass on the left, stepping on the gas and I'm going, uh, a "little" faster. Wouldn't you know it, 15 seconds later, right behind me, lights and siren. As I mutter to myself "*$#%$#%$##" I put my blinker on and move over. As I move over the cop guns it and rockets ahead. It's a reminder to drive safely and always keep you eyes and mind on the road. You want to get home to the family and have a return trip in this beautiful car. |
Yup, I've let mine loose a couple of times. So exhilarating and stable even at speeds more than what the OP posted.....cough cough:driving:

The VQ line really produces great engines which is why its won so many awards over the years, but the HRs are a new beast all together! Enjoy it once youve broken it in more.

Hell yeah it is.

Yep, it likes to run. With VDC off you really feel the true power of the VVEL VQ beast :)

Why would you f*cking do that on a public road?
Yeah, the car is nice and all, but it's not G-d's gift to the world. It's quick, but it's not THAT quick. Give it a rest already. Speaking of the 7AT, they should of made it a 6AT with slightly taller gearing. That way, it would of been funner to drive. At certain points, if you do manual shifting, the 2nd gear, when downshifting will bounce off the rev-limiter and 3rd gear engages too low in the RPM band. Oh well, it's an auto in the end. |
@blnewt: true, but for those who havent trie dthis before please be careful, even though this car is not a 5oowhp monster, i have read more than a few threads over the years (Gen1 and 2) where ppl who tried to have fun with VDC off for the first time and ended up getting into accidents or hitting a curb etc :(
