Is this done at certain times specifically? Or is it just random? I'd be in at 99, but 150 just rubs me the wrong way.
Especially when cheap-o standalone GPS units have maps for life.

Just pull over and ask directions at a gas station.

It's free...it's also what my dad always did in the '70s.

Oh I'm not too worried about it. I run Waze maps all the time. It would just be nice to have the most current maps for the least amount of $$.

My nav hasn't been updated since 2010 since the car moved from Florida to Indiana. Didn't feel the need to change in Indiana since things in general barely change in the midwest.
But in past few years, new roads have come up and I believe it's time to update the nav system. Any suggestions around Lafayette, IN will help. Thanks guys.

Roan, if your maps are circa 2010, just bite the bullet...spend the $99 and do the update. Don't think you'll get much insight by asking for suggestions around Lafayette

Does the update change the appearance at all? Or is it simply just updated maps? If it makes the appearance look more like the q50 nav, I'll do this in a heartbeat. Otherwise, I'll stick with the maps that came with my '11 G37xS.

Navigation change from US to Middle East

Hi

I recently purchased a 2013 g37x US spec with all options however the navigation is for US only.

Please help me on how to change this to Middle East - Bahrain.

I'm sure it can be done but don't know how.

I'm a newbie to the G37 world but loving the car...

Because it's a DVD based Nav, you can only use what's loaded on your G's hard drive. I just updated mine, and when I ordered it I was only given one choice: USA/Canada.

You might have to search for the DVDs for the ME.

Check with an Infiniti dealer over there and see what's what.

GL,

Sean

Uhhh... Just checked pricing for my 08 coupe and its $79.99! Is the dealer cost a flat $150 or does it vary?

Nav Update not worth the $$$

I updated my Nav last year cause I thought I was getting a deal, paid $99 instead of the $150. I was very disappointed, the new maps are still 3-4 years old. I trust Google Map, even Apple Map more than my Nav.

Just my 2 cents.

i know this thread is a bit old, but curious to see if anyone also has NAV Traffic from Sirius XM? what's odd is that the traffic (red/yellow/green) appear for only certain roads, but not all. so if they new map updates allows for additional roads to display traffic, then I would get them (currently $79, but appears to last have been updated in 2015).

I have a 2009 G37x. Haven't applied any map updates yet.

thanks!

i have xm nav and live in tampa fl and it only covers major highways...only...and that it does randomly; sometimes, either going to or from work and it doesn't show anything until I'm 3/4 of way to either location and by then exited the highways.. but i got it so cheap i figured what the heck...when it works , it appears accurate...

Waiting all year for the discount and it seems they are only going down to $129 this year. I've been debating this update for a few years and if I recall correctly the price goes back up after June. Anyone remember what time of year they got the 99 dollar deal?
