Anyone have the 2010 Smokey Quartz Color?

I haven't seen it Live, but from web site / brochure pics, I'm intrigued with the Smokey Quartz / Wheat Interior combo. I'm coming out of a 2007 G35X lease - Black/ Stone interior... I was ready to go with the same combo but learned of this new color. My dealer doesn't have one and is hesitant to get one to his lot, in fact discouraging me against that color. If anyone has one, could you post your own pics. THX

i've seen smokey quart on the dealers lot when i went car shopping for a black. I saw smokey quartz AND graphite shadow and was completely in love with the graphite shadow. Smokey quartz doesn't seem to invoke that spirited feeling from me. It's more like for old folks that looking for something okay to ride it. If you're young and like the mean bold look go for a darker color like black or graphite shadow.

Saw one at the dealership. It wasn't much to look at. It's not a very popular color for some reason.

I was considering the Smoky Quartz but went with the Graphite Shadow instead. The SM just didn't grab me even though I wanted to like it.

Found some pics of G37 in Smoky Quartz ... it seems to be one of those colors that looks different depending on the light (my G35xS in Desert Platinum was the same way) ... a dealer had posted several good pics of a G37xS in SM but I can't find it - they were high resolution pics in various angles. Try googling it.

Good luck deciding!

I saw it next to a graphite shadow and went for the graphite. It looks nice from one angle but looks brownish when you look from a different angle depending on the light. It is not what it looks like on the website at all. Another dealer said they had five and it took them a very long time to sell them so they did not order new ones. I guess it is a real slow selling color.

Its a whack color, very close to Serengeti Sand. Graphite Shadow blows it away.

Smokey Quartz, IMHO, doesn't look right on a sport sedan. It would be better suited on an ES Lexus.
I live in SW Florida so I didn't want a Black car, but I did want one dark enough to show a deep shine after waxing it.
I went with the GS, but the Blue Slate would have been okay also.
There is a reason they call the red cars color "ticket red". Red catches the eyes of the police quicker then other colors and there is a preception that owners of red cars drive them more aggressively. That's the reason I shy away from owning red cars.
I owned a red BMW 540i, but it was a weird color red almost like it was mixed with orange.
I might have opted for a darker gray color, if it was offered, something about midway between the GS and the OB.

Folks, thanks so much for the input. I never saw it Live, but in the photos post by LINY (Thanks again for that), and at one dealer's PC screen. Your right - looks like an Old fart color, not suited for a nice sports sedan.. Got the Black Obsidian {again, my 09 was Black} but with the Wheat / Maple accents interior. I'm not a Black on Black kind of guy. I will tell you, if Infiniti had the Deep Blue (they had it a few years ago - Midnite Blue) with the Wheat (even better Tan - like a Bimmer) would have been the best selection..

Got a 2010 G37X, Premium, Navi, 2 days ago.

I have a nice one 6mt sedan in Smokey Quartz... personally it's a sharp rich color -- like a Bronze/dark gold with olive.

I have Smokey Quartz and love it. It is sporty and classy but maybe it's not for the "Fast and Furious" crowd....and that's ok.

Thanks da Mayor and DallasOne: If you look at the photos from DallasOne, it looks greyish, then the photos from da Mayor, it looks brownish. It has been described as Taupey....I took a Pass on that got Black Osidian - like my 2007. But this time wne twith the Wheat Interiro with the Maple Accents.

Good Smoky Quartz pics

Found these on a dealer web site - hope it helps folks out. Almost went for this color over the Graphite Shadow. I think it looks nice with the Sport package.

Good luck!
