I noticed a crease on the driver's seat within the first 300 miles. Now I'm at 1,400 mi, and it's a bit worse, but not too horrible yet, but still shouldn't be there so early

I also have creasing and wear on my 6 month old G. I asked about it at the dealer and they said that it was normal wear. Does anyone know if anything can be done under warrantee? I have 5,000 miles on the car and it has never even gotten dirty indside. This doesn't seem right.

Depends completly on the dealer you are working with and what your relationship etc has been. They do not have to do it from what I understand but I know for a fact we have done a few of them for "good customers"

I bought my car from your dealership a few months ago and have noticeable creasing in my driver's seat already, so just for future reference, what does it take to be considered a 'good customer', lol?

The cracking is happening on my 2 month old G on the driver's side bolster closest to the door, presumably because that's the spot that gets hit on my way in and out of the car every morning and evening. Agreed that the wear is premature, and (unfortunately) reveals the quality of leather Infiniti is using in these cars. My IS350 looked far better at 4 years old.

"Sealing" the leather with 303, Zaino, or any other leather conditioner is not going to solve the problem. The best thing you can do when leather starts to crease and show wear is to keep it clean. This is coated leather, so conditioners are not going to soak in; rather, they sit on the surface and help attract additional dust and dirt that will get ground into the creases.

The only leather that truly benefits from conditioners is aniline (uncoated) and semi-aniline (lightly coated) leather. If you want to clean your leather as thoroughly as possible to slow the effects of aging and use, try a product like Leatherique - it's the best I've seen.

We barely have seven-thousand miles on our '09 Sport with the graphite interior, and the bolster already looks like it's been through 100,000 miles worth of wear. We live in SoCal, with mild weather, and the car is always garaged. Just ridiculous.

It's clearly the result of Infiniti using the cheapest possible solution for the "leather" seating surfaces. Unlike full-grain leather, it must be "split" or "bonded" - which simply means that it's an ultra-thin layer (veneer, really) fused to a layer of man-made material beneath. I wasn't expecting full-grain (not even sure if MBZ or BMW do that) but certainly not this garbage.

I'll ask the dealer when in for the next oil change.

Hey, Infiniti isn't likely going to do anything unless they have to. So, indeed, the squeaky wheel...

Got my '09 non-S sedan on 12/26, have about 4800 miles, and have creasing/wear on the drivers seat lower bolster. Not too happy about this.

Nissan leather is very soft compared to other manufacturers like BMW. You guys should see mine. I have 16k and mine are cracked all around.

Quick Reply: why is the leather on my driver's side seat worn and cracked already???
