Loud engine noise & Clicking at start up
First, I tried to search this subject and no one had the exact issue that I'm having so heres my post...
I'm not sure if it's an issue or not but it bothers the crap out of me. When I first start the car in the morning after it has been idle for 10+ hours the engine is super loud! It almost sounds like I started a huge truck. And also it makes a ticking or clicking noise. I live in Cali so the coldest it gets at night right now is probably 50 degrees Celius. So...as the car warms up, the noise dies down alot however I can still hear a faint clicking noise from the engine. But..once I put the car in gear the car goes dead silent and the clicking noise stops.
From the searches I have done and it's seems like the clicking sound will go away if I use the Nissan Esther or Synthenic oil. Would that be the same case for my issue?
And is everyone elses car loud at start up as mine?
Sorry for being so ****...this is my first new car ever and she only has 1k miles and I want to baby her.

Mine does the same thing. Did you change the oil in it? After the RPM's come down after about 20 seconds it is quiet as a mouse. I am guessing since it only has one thousand miles on it you haven't changed the oil. If you didn't then it already should have factory fill Nissan Ester oil in it. Someone stated that it might have something to do with the cats warming up initially but I cannot verify that. Honestly, mine sounds more like it is the exhaust than valvetrain noise. I changed my oil at 500 miles to regular Pennzoil dino oil (I change all my new cars out after 500 by habit) and thought it was louder after doing that. So......I changed it again at 1000 back to the Nissan ester. Waste of money I know, but it proved to me it was not the oil and was just the car. Same noise with both oils.

Yes, the high idle and loudness are normal on cold starts. Wait til you put an intake and exhaust on there and see how loud it is on cold starts. Anyway, I have 1k on mine as well but I never noticed any clicking noises.

Sound of my G
Hey guys, so I've been doing some stuff to my car like adding k and n power cold air intake system with custom filters and and racing exhaust. I was curious how do I get that ark exhaust sound without dropping 2k? Would straight piping give me that ?
