2010 Nav Options in a 2009?

Would it be possible to upgrade the 2009 Nav system to display 2010 options like weather? Screen upgrade would be nice, but Id be happy with the weather option. Hope this isnt a noob question thats already been asked. Looking to grab a 2009 left over

Thanks in advance for any help!

Here is some speculation based on past experience with my Audi.

We've faced this problem in the Audi forums for a while with the new third generation MMI system having upgraded graphics and capabilities over the previous - this looks like the new Infiniti system. People tried a number of approaches to getting the older units to run the upgraded software - the new capabilities were tied to the faster processor and upgraded video processor and display. The new software either refused to load or bricked the units of particularly resolute people. The solution which people have used is to replace the critical components altogether. I'm guessing this will be the Infiniti solution as well. I'm hoping the switch pad and screen cutout remain the same in which case the deal will be buying the screen and nav computer as two new components. Through the dealer this was roughly $2000 or the cost of the unit as a new option for the Audi. I'd roughly guess comparable pricing for the Infiniti parts. I would expect they aren't changing the main data bus or the center console display that would break a retrofit.

Which sucks. The 09's are being sold at amazing prices right now. If I had to do a retrofit of a 2010 nav system into a 2009 car - I'd probably rather start with the 2009 nav system but expect to spend 2k or so to make it work. I'm guessing the dealer will want more than 2k between the 09 and the 10 model. The 2010 will be worth a few k more in a couple of years over the 09. If you aren't super-strapped for cash - I'd buy the 2010 with what you want in it. If the deal is compelling, buy the 2009 - expect to live with the 20009 nav system and hope for a solution in a couple of years that will require you to spend some bucks.

The new features are nice but aren't compelling over the 2009 model. BMW and Audi are both adding lots of internet based info - restaurant searches, concierge services, weather, stock prices, and interfaces that look the iphone "cover flow" interface. I'd wait for that but not for slightly smoother map fonts and weather.

Zenrin (Infinit software) showed some of their new content on their website a couple o weeks back - features like building animations and trees on the side of the road. It looked like grand theft auto. Ford said at CES they will have full google earth views in their next gen nav system.
