G37s display doesn't indicate what gear I'm in?

Hey guys, Just bought my first g37s. It's a manual, but the screen with the tachometer doesn't show what gear I'm in at all.. No neutral, no 1-6.. no reverse.. nothing.. Does it normally? if not can I add that in? I'd like to have that feature

The gauge cluster does not show gear position on MANUAL TRANSMISSION cars. Never did.

This is about as close as you'll get to that type of feature:

No stickshift/manual car I've ever owned has done that.

No these cars don’t have the gear indicator. It kinda sucks at first but I just got used to it.

The 2014 and up Mazda 3 shows the current gear of the manual transmission PLUS when you should up shift.

That german company is pretty cool! I suppose this would be useful on a course track, but for the street its just another gimmick. Still pretty fascinating though. I wonder how they do it?

I can't imagine not knowing what gear I'm in. That's kind of weird.

Sorry for reviving the old thread, but has anyone figured out a way to constantly show the gear number?

My 5AT only displays the gear in sport mode
or when I manuaIy shift at the shifter or with the Paddles.
