Trunk Panel Clips
Does anyone know where to buy or even the part number for the clips that secure the plastic tray that sits inside the trunk? They are metal and clip into the metal of the trunk. Mine have been lost in the abyss. I might stop by the dealership when I have some time and see if they can help. See below (not my car):

Not seeing it on discountinfinitiparts.com.
Not the first time, the "finisher strips" along side the windshield aren't listed there but the dealer can find them. Looks like that's your next best option. Or a junk yard. |
If you do have to go to the dealer and find out, let us know! I am in need of some too lol
|
Haha will do man! I might try and stop by this weekend. I also need to find out the size of the 3 bolts for the front strut mount. I need to replace one, maybe they can help. If not I'll just size it up once I remove it to do my suspension overhaul/upgrade.
Side note: I am contemplating getting that plastic trunk piece done by Carbon Fiber Elements, we shall see... |
The Infiniti dealer was unable to help. I've never had a good experience with Cool Springs (Franklin, TN). Part diagram did not show the clip anywhere and could not guarantee they come with a new panel (which I would not do). I may just retrofit something to get it to work. I'm going to keep looking though. Also something worth mentioning is that there are 2 small rectangular plates below the trunk latch that appear to be removable. If they are I am going to remove them and see if I see the clips anywhere.
Found a good website for clips: https://www.clipsandfasteners.com/Nissan-Infiniti-Clips-Fasteners-Retainers-s/14.htm?searching=Y&sort=13&cat=14&show=450&page=1 FYI this is the white plastic clip that are used on the fuse panel and passenger side footwell tirm panels, 01553-09791. Used a digital vernier to verify the size. https://www.clipsandfasteners.com/Ni...8.htm?CartID=1 I had Infiniti look up the part above as well and he called me back later saying you have to order the whole fuse trim/panel. I almost laughed and hung up. These are clips widely used throughout many Nissan/Infiniti models. This is why I do most research/purchasing online. I can never rely on what the dealer has told me or other shops. I hate how automotive repair is such a sketchy industry. I think for any other future clips I'll just use my digital vernier to measure it and pick some up down the road at Advance. |
These look damn close. I wish I had one still for reference. Part # 11296-3TA0A, check the link:
https://www.clipsandfasteners.com/Ni...A-p/a22198.htm Could one of you guys do me a favor and pull your cover and see if the clips look like the ones above? Thanks! |
I see these clips available from China: https://www.ebay.com/itm/10x-Car-Tru...4hP:rk:19:pf:0
|
Just bought these.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/10Pcs-Unive...Neg3:rk:1:pf:0 I'll let you guys know if they work. |
I laud your persistence. I would have just gone to a junkyard after the dealer's first "nope".
|
Yeah...the junkyards "near" me are just a pain to get to and deal with. The less I have to drive around Nashville, Brentwood, Franklin the better lol.
|
Well the clips I purchased above appeared they might work. I was able to wedge them onto the plastic tabs on the cover but they would not hook/latch onto the metal. Can anybody snap a pic of one of theirs and post it? I'm going to keep looking. I use my trunk a lot for mine and my son's lacrosse equipment. It's annoying knocking that thing out every time when removing things. Thanks in advance guys!

If you DOOO find some that work, would you be kind enough to update it here/ message me? I was going to look around too but I haven't the time or maybe just go to a junkyard.. |

Haha yeah the dealer is a joke. I have not had time to stop by those dealers but I am going to try this week.

Wow! Thanks man! These work huh? JSPOWER WE GOT AN ANSWER!
yes, I thought I might have to modify it...but they fit right out of the bag |
I did this hunt about a year ago, and found everything that you did, as far as you have to order the whole trim piece to get the tiny clips. I visited body shops and never found a decent clip, and my local junkyards are a major PITA to deal with also. and I beleive the I ended up with one of the above GM clips and it did not work for me. The best solution I found and is still working to this day? I modified a generic plastic clip from the auto parts store with a dremel.

yes, I thought I might have to modify it...but they fit right out of the bag
Unfortunately, after receiving them, I see that these clips only "work" on the most outer ones on that trunk liner piece. The clips don't snap on to the tabs near the center. It's still better than nothing! https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.myg...9e0144ff49.jpg Metal tab works on red circle a lot better than blue circle. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.myg...289e91153b.jpg The metal upside down U piece in the middle makes it difficult to slide on to the tabs. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.myg...c7899e6326.jpg The "inside" tabs that don't snap on because of that silly middle metal piece in between. You can see I scratched up the plastic part with the metal piece. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.myg...57ad635e26.jpg The "outside" tabs that fit ok when forced on. You can see the plastic tab in the middle being scratched by the metal piece. |
Yeah I noticed the outside 2 were different than the inside 2. I've got mine fairly secure now.
