The video was way more on your side than the thread. BUT, they both sound like a G coupe, only slightly different.

And I'm not "in denial", this is how I process the difference between the 2 cars, it's mostly related to volume, somewhat to being a single inlet muffler can vs dual inlet muffler can, but they both sound like G coupes. Honestly denial would mean I care enough to deny.....but I don't. They sound mostly the same to me. What does it matter anyway? Do you just want me to form the same opinion as you?

lol quieter meaning it sounds different. The G37 doesn't have the same growl. I've owned the car for years (2015 Q60) no one has complemented the exhaust.

Owned the 2006 G35 for 4 years. Received complements and a lot of head turns when I drive it. The exhaust sounded amazing.

Both cars are 6mts.

I even purchased the sports muffler from the dealership to improve the exhaust note, but it wasn't even close. It was louder and even raspier. Got rid of it 3 days later.

The G35 wasn't annoyingly loud. It was a nice deep tone.

Clutchfan, try not to get personal when arguing your opinions. Thanks. Otherwise this is a great thread, with awesome pics, creative ideas and good discussion.

Just realized a side-effect to this muffler mod is the accumulation of water in the muffler. It's not a 100% sealed/straight pipe to the exhaust. There's a small opening naturally in the inlet of the exhaust that allows for some gases and moisture to escape the exhaust and travel into the muffler body. Needless to say, this experiment keeps going and a possible hole may be required to allow the water to drain.

Agreed 100%
I have an fx35 and a g37 coupe, and everyone i ask thinks the fx has a better stock exhaust sound

And, as a counterpoint to a few earlier comments about people trying to make their maxima sound like a g35, the fx35 has a single inlet muffler
