370GT acceleration lag, bogging down.

Hi guys! I am new here.

I am now officially a proud owner of a 370gt 5 spd auto. Although the car comes with some serious issues.

The issues I am experiencing

- Throttle response is delayed, feels laggy.
- Manual mode feels like there is a 3 seconds delay between gears
- Sometimes the car pulls really hard, and other times the car feels like it wont accelerate hard, as if the engine is straining?

Is this a common issue with the 370gt guys? It makes it really hard to enjoy this car due to these issues

Any help would be much appreciated.

Do some research on here for a grounding kit. A lot of owners here have had great results from adding one to help improve the laggy auto transmission.

Sometimes a simple ECU reset helps as well.

How many miles on it? Spark plugs are supposed to be changed out at I think 105k miles. Another thing would be to clean out your throttle bodies.

I agree with Jpowers. I bought an 08 5spd auto and had the same issue when I first had it. Cleaned the throttle bodies and added the grounding kit. Shifts are super smooth now, I do still have lag down shifting from 4th to 3rd when I'm looking to get more power quickly though.

If you have an 08 5 sp and your 4 - 3 delay issue is in manual mode , then press the gas first before downshifting from 4 to 3. for some reason when you downshift then hit the gas in that gear, the computer gets confused for a second.
@nismo370, Is that the delay you are talking about as well?

Also check the throttle bodies. Mine went bad and symptoms for me was terrible acceleration.

+1 for an ECU reset.

Also clean throttle bodies, and even run seafoam depending on your car mileage.
