Looking to buy g37s 6mt, what should i look for?
As the titles states, looking to buy an 08 37s 6mt. I had a auto g35 previously, and absolutely loved it. However, this will be my first manual car, and I'm looking for some advice. Car has roughly 110k miles, and the owner has said they've done a lot of maintenance. This is their description.:
This g37s coupe has had a lot of maintenance done to it, such as the following:
-New oem exedy clutch kit with flywheel**
-tune up (spark plugs, new coil pack, valve cover gasket and air filters)
-serpentine belt
-front rotors and brake pads
-fresh oil change (always used Mobil 1 synthetic)
-pcv valves
**over 2100 in receipts**
Going to be checking the car out next week, and wanted to know what i should be looking for, and any other general adivce you'd guys give =)

find out if and when the clutch slave cylinder was changed. Not 100% sure, but does Exedy make an OEM replacement? I' double check that too to find out if a "performance clutch" was installed. Not that it really matters but just so you know exactly what you have and are working with

Clean title?
If they have that many receipts I'd say they were pretty tedious with the upkeep. As with anything though, do your due diligence.
Bring someone along with you who can feel out the stiffness in the clutch. Slave cylinder have been known to fail sometimes in these cars.
Bring a code reader too just in case they disconnected the battery in order to hide potential codes.
Make sharp lefts and sharp rights. Listen for abnormal sounds.
Hard break from 60-0. Feel for steering wheel vibrations. I didn't do this and ended up replacing pads and rotors shortly after purchase.
Listen for VVEL tap. Google videos of what it sounds like.
Feel the dash for stickiness or tackiness. Known to bubble and peel.
Pop Hood & look for mismatched bolts and wiring.
Make sure the spare tire and tools are in the trunk....
Check when the last time the rear differential fluid was changed
Get it up to high way speeds
Ask them to take you for a drive in it and ask them questions. Will allow you to see how they drove it and allows you to listen and look for abnormalities.
Compression test can be bought at an auto zone or any auto parts store but have this done to evaluate engine health.
All I can think of at the moment. If anything else comes to mind I'll edit.
