Strange Door Lock Issue

Not sure what is going on with my car but I have a strange door lock issue. It's a 2010 G37S auto. I have about 75k miles. The battery was replaced around 40k or maybe 2 1/2 years ago.

Anyway the issue is that when I turn off the car and open the door. The second I get the door open the door locks engage to the lock position. This does not happen all the time but maybe around 50-60%. Also I have noticed the autolock function after 15 miles an hour doesn't always work. I;m not sure if there is a reset like the auto window roll down reset.

Nope. I doubt its the switch. It has to be something electrical. I just hope it doesn't get worse and cause other issues. This car was certified and in great shape when I bought. Hope I didn't get screwed.

I had issues like this with my passenger front door (2010 sedan with like 65k miles at the time) and then eventually the lock failed. I'd have to manually flip the lock/unlock, talk about annoying...

It was the door lock actuator. Got hit for nearly $600 by Infiniti... now the driver side front and rear doors sometimes exhibit the same behavior. The dealer had no interest in helping with the price some despite the fact I only had the car for like 6 months then. I should have got that warranty after all, because I'm thinking every door is going to fail now. I can't say for sure this is what is happening to you, but it seems very similar with the random locks and the doors not properly locking/unlocking when prompted. Good luck.

You don't have to go to the dealer for that. Find a good auto electrical shop and urea. I'm sure they can fix it. If all else fails Google it. I'm sure there's a YouTube video somewhere of us will show you how to do it yourself. It's not gonna be that difficult.

That is a lot of steps. But it's very doable. Specially if you follow the video step-by-step
