Broken throttle body bolt, Infiniti can't find right size replacement.
 

February 2008 Infiniti G37 Coupe, 3.7L V6, automatic transmission, completely stock.

Cleaned the throttle body on the passenger side and a bolt holding the throttle body to the plenum snapped. I was able to successfully extract the broken bolt without difficulty.

I called Infiniti for a new set of bolts and picked them up today. The part number of the bolt is 16122-JK20B. The bolts I received from Infiniti were far too short, maybe 1.5 inches in length total. The parts department confirmed these were the right bolts, but I pulled a lead service technician into the conversation and after taking one look at the bolts, he said they were not the right size (too short). Even after hearing this, the parts department said they provided the correct bolts. I don't know where to go from here.

Has anyone else had this issue? I can't figure out what to do, and without the right size bolt, I can't drive my car. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

That is indeed the correct part number. I would ask them to re-order them and double check the part number on the bag.

If the above doesn't work, figure out the stud length, thread count/pitch and just order them online from a nut/bolt store like Fastenal.

Those look like fairly standard allen cap bolts. Take an old one with you for size/thread. Our local ace hardware has all sorts of metric hardware. I bet they have something similar. This is not a high torque bolt either so it doesn't have to be a high grade.

possible mispackage at parts warehouse depot. when working at honda and at mercedes dealers i have gotten drivers frt window glass instead of frt passenger glass but the part number on the box was correct. parts mispackage does happen. if you don't want to deal with the dealer parts dept i would suggest you go to a nut and bolt vendor in your area and they can match up the bolt by its correct thread pitch and length.

Thanks for the input everyone. I had the parts department verify the part number as well as the part number on the bag containing the bolts. I'm hoping there was a mixup at the parts warehouse and someone with a gnarly post-Christmas hangover dropped the wrong bolts in my bag.

I had them re-order the parts and I ordered another set on my own from a third party distributor. Good thing they're only about $1.00 a piece.

As far as the bolt size, I know it's manufactured by YFS and has 12.9 written on the cap. The hex is 5mm, the cap is 10mm, the bottom of the cap to the tip of the bolt is 60mm, and the thread length is 25mm. Can something like this be found at a hardware store? I don't know what the NPT size is, like I dont know how course or fine the threads are. Any ideas?

Take one of the good ones to a fastener supplier around you (fastenal type place) and they'll be able to match the bolt up and sell them for probably 10 cents a piece.
