G37s Wrapped

I'm going to get my G37 coupe wrapped in a couple days. Can I put glossifier plasti dip over the front bumper and side skirts to try to protect it from rock chips? Or would the glossifier sheet be noticeable?

Wouldn't a clear bra work better and last longer? I'm also curious about this since I'm trying to do a full wrap as well.

I'm in the process right now of vinyl wrapping my entire car satin black and believe me when I say you do not want to put Plasti Dip over vinyl wrap its pointless you might as well pay half the price of vinyl wrap and just plasti dip your entire car instead. Vinyl wrap is actually pretty durable towards rock chips a lot more than plasti dip in my opinion and from what I have learned through this entire process.

Sounds good I won't dip but is it hard to fix and pricey? My friend has his car wrapped and there's little squares covering the rock chips. I was thinking about asking my wrapper for some extra film so I can do that myself, is it hard?

Vinyl wrap is pretty durable and is already a layer of protection, so in the event it needs to be replaced just get it re-wrapped. Just make sure your paint isn't peeling, cracking, or chipping when you get it wrapped because it will show through the wrap making it look like the wrap is uneven or cracking.

Unless a rock really hits your car hard it really shouldn't chip on the vinyl if it is a small little scrape you're worried about I would just pencil it in I think doing little squares over the vinyl wrap is kind of ghetto lol if it ever gets really really bad all they have to do is remove the vinyl wrap from that one part of the car and every rewrap it which shouldn't cost much at all I would guess average maybe $100 - $200 depending how big the section it is that they wrapped. What color are you planning on wrapping your car? And what color is it now? Mine was ivory pearl white and as I said I'm going for satin black. Also feel free to hit the thanks button on the bottom right hand side of my posts for the advice :) lol

Where's the thanks button? & what do you mean by pencil? Wouldn't that be permanent on the paint? & my car currently is black and I'm going to make it gloss red. Rocks will probably hit my car hard so I need to be prepared.

Forget the thanks thing I believe you're still to end to have it displayed lol as for pencil it on it would've been easier if you were wrapping to black. I'd ask all these questions to rhe place you're going to take it to get it wrapped they will have the most knowledge to your concerns. Where are you located? If your in the NJ/NY area I can recommend a really good place.

On average for a guaranteed good job $1,500 - $2,000 depending how popular wrapping is in that area.

G37bruh 02-29-2016 05:20 PM

They go up to $3500 here but ion understand one for $1650 cause I know him. But nobody does it lower than 2500 here

Take a look at the 3m paint defender spray. It works like a clear bra. It is easy to apply, and you can put wax over it.

Okay so my cars finally wrapped! I was looking online and it told me that maintainence is everything for vinyl wraps however it's a lot easier if you have a garage. I don't have a garage for another 2 months, so it'll be outside all the time. It's starting to get sunny here but it's still raining a bit. How do I take care of this? Online said regular washes help, but what products can I use? I'm a beginner so I would like all the details.

Mind posting a picture of the final product? :icon38:
