throttle lag

I'm not sure if "throttle lag" is the right term but, I have a 2012 IPL and occasionally, when I get in a hurry, I push down on the gas pedal and nothing happens, unless I put it on the floor and then it really takes off. I ask the dealer about this and he said it was my driving. But it has happened to my wife also.
Any ideas what is going on? And what can I do about it. I like the car but I'm not going to put-up with something that could get me in a wreck.

Two things I would check. First there is a software update for the automatic transmission that makes it a little more responsive. Second is check the throttle bodies to make sure they're clean. Either can cause the issue you've described.

I have a 2013 IPL Vert and almost as soon as I got it I put on a Stillen Gen 3 CAI. I never had the issue. I took it off in early summer because of a AC line repair and that is when it started. I hated my car and was looking for something to trade it for. It was sluggish and this same lag. I changed the airfilters even though I had low miles on the original ones before the Stillen. I thought about the throttle bodies needing cleaning and had the dealer check it a few times. I have the latest software so that wasn't it. the dealer told me that it was the stock intakes. like breathing through a stray in hot air while running. so I changed out the stock intakes and put the Stillen back on and love my car again. it pulls all through the rmp range to max where the stock seemed to choke out. ill just monitor the AC lines better but that fixed my issue. not sure if it is the right answer for you but worked for me. best of luck because that issue is a real drag especially when you have the IPL which is suppose to be a performer.

How many miles do you have on the car. Diff and trans fluid change is always good to do sooner than later

Are y'all 7AT owners? If so, it's not throttle lag. It's the programming by Infiniti to retain a gear as long as possible to get the highest EPA fuel mileage numbers they could. You have to stomp the gas pedal to make the computers understand you want/need a downshift.
