6MT Owners - clutch pedal too far away? Too short?

I can't believe I'm asking this - am I too short for this car? I'm approx. 5'7", and maybe it's because of my preferred seating position, but I have to be pretty up front to the car to drive comfortably - that means being able to hit the clutch pedal all the way to the floor without straining my left leg, as well as hitting all the other pedals comfortably. To do that, my steering wheel is all the way forward, and I notice when I exit the car, I'm actually pretty close to the front edge of the door, so I kind of have to open the door extra wide to get out...unless I scoot the seat back on my own. Anyone else have this problem, or are my genes defective?

The OEM clutch is way too high. Maybe your sitting position isn't good enough.

I have same defective genes. However, I pull the seat back enough so that I am comfortable and that my toes can barely push the clutch all the way to the floor. Then I adjust the tilt to make it more comfortable.

The only thing I don't like is the center arm rest which is too low to pushed further back than the G35.

Also, the cups are hitting my arms during shifting and resting. This didn't happen with the G35?

Agreed but I got used to it!

A little trick that I use is from a dead stop in first gear and foot on the gas pedal is to fully engage the clutch without the RPM exceeding 1k when getting under way. Once you find the exact grab point its all good.

Solution: Buy a RJM Clutch Pedal and you can adjust the pedal height. That, and have an enjoyable manual transmission car.
