1st Gen vs 3rd Gen Stillen intake
I have the 1st Gen Stillen intake for my 2008 Journey when I picked it up back in late 2007. I am interested in getting a 3rd Gen Stillen intake but want to know the gain differences. Does anyone have info about the two? Thanks

Well since your first gen is discountinued. Seeing that there is a stillen product page between the 2nd and 3rd gens. Thats a pretty nice comparison. Also they had a deal for them on black friday for 500.00 but deal just past, you could how ever trying msging them to trying and get that deal.

Honestly I would pass on the Gen 3's Just for price :/ The Takeda's will make the same power 15-20 WHP mid range and you will some increase up top also. The Takeda's are $100 less at least last I same Amazon for $369. Last week .

Ultra long tube is far superior to short ram intakes. You'll understand why once you're installing it and remove the air tunnels that funnel air into the engine compartment, they're tiny.
Takeda runs a higher risk of water ingestion due to the dry filter, I've heard of people damaging their MAF's during rain storms with no rain guard. Also, make sure it's installed correctly since the couplers are pretty short.
I have the Gen 3's and they're great, run then with no rain guard. Haven't had any issues even through major storms, had them for 1.5 years now. Also wrapped them in Reflect a Gold to prevent any heat soak when idling.

I also have the gen 3's and they sound great. At the moment i have them paired with my ARK exhaust, but going to fast intentions eventually. About price, i got mine used on here for 380.00, i know used is used but they are basically just metal pipes and had no damage on them. I enjoy the sound, look, and feel of them and would definitely recommend them. Also, installation is far over-exaggerated on here and not difficult at all, neither is the cutting. The gain compared to the gen 1's will be noticeable both noise wise as well as power wise.
