Aftermarket headlights

Hey guys!

I get my car back tommorow and they replaced both my headlights due to the accident I was in.. Anyone know If the headlights that are not oem any good? I'm worried it's gonna have some crappy lens in there.. And a so so ballast. Anyways I'm gonna ask to keep the old headlights since it's just small cracks..

Thanks!
Cedric!

AFAIK there's no aftermarket headlight units, just bulbs and lenses. And in the case of the lenses they're better than the oem fresnal lens.
Do you have a pic or brand name of those lights? And yes, I'd definitely ask to keep the original lights, if nothing else you can sell them pretty easily for a couple hundred each or custom paint them

I haven't gotten to picked up yet. But I saw a various manufacturer on rockauto selling headlight units. I'll take a few pictures when I get the car hopefully in like 6 hours. But they said it was expensive $1200 ish for a non infiniti one.

That's actually an aftermarket brand that has been widely used by auto body shop as requested by the insurance companies.
They work and look pretty much the same as the OEM's, but fitment MAY be an issue. So check for fitments too, even if there's a minor fitment problem, you can ask the body shop to request OEM headlights from the insurance. (but most likely, you'll have to be close to the shop to help you with that.)

Here's some on Amazon
Amazon.com: Infiniti G37 4Dr Sedan Driver & Passenger Side Replacement HeadLights: Automotive Amazon.com: Infiniti G37 4Dr Sedan Driver & Passenger Side Replacement HeadLights: Automotive
Good Luck OP, hope they either work & fit well or you can get the OEM units changed out. Keep us posted and post pics of the "imposters" when you can.

Well that's disappointing to hear, definitely not acceptable.
Now that you brought these aftermarket sets to my attention I'm wondering if some of the parts could be bought separately from them? Would be much easier to source a bezel or shroud for a few bucks compared to buying a whole fixture, of course if they fit like crap that would nullify any savings
G/L getting this corrected Cedric.
