So what is the cheapest price for this job.

I believe Nissan dealers charge less, maybe below 2K out the door?

I got my car back yesterday. I was so excited. Cost me $1603.32. I like my car so much better!

So when I left, i got on a straight away and floored it. Whew! She blew doors! But then I noticed this hesitation she had from day one, was gone! I took my car in under warranty back in Sept 2014, right after I bought it and complained about the transmission hesitating. It was the fricking CAM sprockets all along!!!!!!!! I am sending them notice at the dealership and asking why this was not addressed then.

Nice to hear it's running just fine and the cost wasn't extreme vs. what others had gone through.
Now you can really enjoy your G!

Some others may have to chime in but there are no smoking guns other than low oil pressure. By the time the oil lamp lights on the dash oil pressure is already super low. If you wanted, you could ask the dealer to perform an oil pressure test every year or so? May be the best way without visual inspection.

The oil leak is internal. You won't see it. As has been stated here several times, there aren't external symptoms. No leaks on the ground. The first thing most people notice is limp mode or a MIL and codes.

Nice to hear that you got it fixed for a reasonable amount. Do you mind telling us the detailed costs (labour, which parts were needed and their prices).

thanks

Checked with the local dealership. Out of more that 5,000 cars sold and serviced, he has only seen 4 cars ever having this problem. So while it may happen, the likelihood is extremely low.

It only takes one if it happens to be yours. The guy who repaired mine (Nissan dealership tech.) said he's worked on about a dozen so far. G's, Z's, a Maxima, and an Altima.

Not saying it can't happen, but I checked out the local Nissan dealership, he had 2 Z's that had the problem. Dropped by a tuner shop that specializes in G's, GT-R's, and Z's and he has not had one failure in the past 5 years. He said that his customer's beat the crap out of their cars and not one issue. Many of them in the 100K - 150K mileage range.
