This happened to me this morning in upstate New York. I assumed the door was unlocking and the door was frozen stuck as I couldn't get it open, but I wasn't about to yank and yank because I would have ripped the handle off. Turns out, the physical key worked fine so it must be just the electronics not functioning correctly in the cold as I closed the door, hit the button and it beeped as if locked, but wasn't - had to lock/unlock with physical key.

seems to be a common theme among Nissan and Infiniti, I have friends with Nissan's who have this issue on their cars.

It's almost as if the locking mecanism freezes as well..

I usually have to get in from the passenger side..

Does this ever happen to anyone else?? Is there even a possible fix??
Apply vaseline on the rubber seal all around. Will keep it from freezing. Happened to me before I ended up doing this.

Happened to me yesterday, probably didn't help that I washed it the day before so all the water in the crevices froze over night. Had to climb through the passenger side and drive around a bit before it melted enough for me to open the door

Just started happening to my coupe. Well - you know how the glass lowers when you open and close the door? When frozen, this cannot happen.
