Rear Bumper Bracket
Hey guys,
after doing research on completely shaving the rear bumper bracket, i figured that it wouldnt affect anything unless an after market fiberglass bumper would be installed... is this correct??? :confused2: how many have done a complete rear bumper bracket shave without any issue occuring after???? i wanna completely shave the entire bracket or maybe move the bolt a half and inch or so further... im wondering if the rear bumper would become flumsy, become loose, wobble etc. if the bolt is completely removed... ive seen bumpers on hondas wobble specially when in the freeway and open road driving... ... want it to appear and seem as if nothing was ever modded unless you looked underneath... haha |
I did it and have no issues, but then again I drilled a little hole on the lip of the rear bumper where it meets the fender and passed a tie-strap through it just in case. Had done it on my ISx50 for the fronts and worked well also. GL

i thought you did a small shave and that fixed the issue,
are you thinking about doing a complete shave just for the heck of it? or is it still rubbing? |
Mines are completely shaved off too. I used 3m double side tape to keep the bumper in place and not a single issue.
Yes, if you plan on getting a aftermarket fiberglass bumper you will have some problems from keeping it up. What I can suggest is remove the bolt, use a rubber mallet and bend it instead of cutting it off completely that way it's still there if you ever need it. |

Mine is pretty close to being completely off. It was needed for my wheels tire set up to fit. I have no probs.
