Yeah I try to do what Jsolo said and just back into spots now. It is just too embarrassing to have the car squeal when backing out in the mornings and cold days.

I don't have a brake squeal [yet]. It's always been a force of habit to back into a spot for ease of departure. Safer too; you already see what's around you before you back in, where as backing out of a parking spot is semi blind, especially if you have suv's parked on either side. Parking in a mall, or where I can drive through to the front parking space is always preferred. Of course, with a new car, I tend to park further away anyways.

My friend's brand new altima did it too, problem might be wider than I thought.

I took my '08 S in and the dealer said my routers were glazed. Apparently it only effects the front ones and they ground them down to remove the glazing. This corrected the problem. If your car is still under warranty, the service department will not charge you. But my guess is that this will only work until the routers get glazed again, but for now it works.

I had the same issue with my 08 G37S. Took mine in for some warranty service, and they applied a TSB on it. It included installing some baffle plates or something like that, which are supposed to avoid the build-up of brake dust. It completely got rid of it. And notice that it applies to rear break squeal on ALL Infinitis. ITB00-024e

Another TSB that deals strictly with front break noise "while traveling forward or backward at a slow speed" (as they put it), is ITB11-050. They simply replace both caliper sliding pins.

I have a 2009 g37s and had the same annoying problem. Me and my brother would fix this problem when we worked at a shop back in high school. We took my wheels off and used a drill with a wire brush and used it on the rotors. The breaks have a films that causes the noise. Well, we did it to my G and now they are quiet no matter what temperature.

so get the rotors resurfaced? thats what my dealer said, but i've yet had the time to do it

Surface would work, if you want to put up the money. Even sandpaper can work and keep the money in your pocket.

I think it's pretty sad to feel embarrassed because your brakes squeal a little when you reverse. I for one don't feel like pointing and laughing or think any less of someone who drives a car with squeaky brakes. Unless it's that sound of metal against metal, then I'll frown because it must take a complete retard to drive around knowing that there is something seriously wrong with your brakes.
