Any difference in IPL engine?

I remember reading about this when it first came out but I didn't care because I had a G35. Not that I have a G37, I do care, LOL. It says that it has 18 more HP (which isn't a lot). Where does that come from? Tuned engine HP or intake/exhaust related? I was just curious! It really sucks to only have 18 more HP for a "performance version" of our car. Imagine if they did that with M3's smh.

Thanks.

yea 18 hp for a performance package is weak. I think the added performance comes from a different tune, but I'm not totally sure

Engine is the same. Just a tune, intake and probably exhausts that you can get way cheaper for.

Not only that but those 18 extra horsepower happen near redline. At < 6800 rpm's the base engine and the IPL have the same power.

I was just poking around in the IPL tune, and when compared with the Sport tune, the VVEL data is identical, no changes.

Funny how IPL haters are mostly those who bought a g37s before the IPL came out...Hate on it but do IPL bumper swaps. Many said the it was expensive for what is was but people who bought them new got significant discounts making it a smart choice over the g37s. And those that did I'm sure are happy of that decision.
