Sh!tty windshield wiper blades on 2011?
I've noticed that whenever I clean my windshield with wiper fluid, my drivers side wiper always streaks... I used Invisible Glass last time I washed my car and still, the wiper streaks... Only the drivers side one though... I spoke to my friend today who, as well as I, has a 2011 coupe... He also told me his streaks... Is anyone else having the same issue? Or is it just me and my Staten Island friend? LOL let me know guys!

How long have you had the car? Most wiper blades last around 6k miles according to manufacturers. If you need to replace wipers, you should go to orderinfinitiparts.com. It is $14 each blade compare to the dealer which charge $72 for the set.

Well to tell you the truth, I've noticed it ever since I got it 7 months ago... I have almost 4,500 miles on the car, but they're still crappy... Maybe it's just a 2011 thing, as my friend told me he has the same problem, and it's not the dealer, considering he got his car at a different dealership.

Then you should buy a different brand of wiper blades. Streaks shouldn't occur especially on a new car. If the problem occurs contact the dealer.

I've had this exact same problem on my 09 since day one. Got wiper blades, wiper assemblies replaced, even the windshield under warranty. Still not resolved. I had a sedan loaner when my car was getting worked on and it did it too, but to a lesser extent.
My personal opinion is that it's this new style of wiper blade since my friends 3-series coupe does it too, same design. |
Anything but Bosch blades is crap. What brand are you using?
Our stock blades I just took off went 32K / 3 years and were streaking in only 1 place. I dont know whats going on with you guys saying blades only last 6k miles???? Maybe because our car never sits in the sun baking the crap out of them. |

I had a similar problem on my 08 G sedan, never got the issue completely resolved. I used clay bar on the windsheild and it helped for a while. My 11 G37 coupe does not have this issue at all.
I'm thinking new/better blades will solve your problem. Look for blades that do not look like toothpicks. If they are more substantial and since they weigh more they will do a better job. |
Get the Bosch wiper blades. The factory ones are crap
|
I thought all wiper blades were crappy and that's how the companies make money and stay in the wiper blade business. Any wipers after the "stock" ones always seem not to last as long.
|
They replaced my blades free of charge everytime I go in for service. Since I barely drive the car these days, I haven't gone in for service quite as much but yes, the wipers do stink. Plan on replacing them with some Bosch jumpoffs when the winter season hits
|
Yeah, I'm gonna try and ride these out til the end of winter, but considering the winter we had last year it might not be possible... I'm not gonna get dealer wipers, I'd rather pay $30 for some good ones... Even my bro's sedan had ****ty factory ones, and he has an '09... He says he bought Rain-X now and they're good... Maybe I'll read reviews before I buy some lol

PIAA Silicone blades are by far the best I have ever found but they are a little bit more pricy then the others.

I had the same problem. My '08's blades were streak-free, but my 11's driver side blade was terrible. I told the dealer after 1 week in the car and they said they'd get me a replacement, but never did. I ended up just picking up some Rain-x blades and they've been working much better. Might try the Bosch like everyone suggests soon.
