Should i buy the Winter tires + rims or winter tires only?

I have stock G37S rims that came with my G37S and i need winter tires.. so i'm thinking

1) should i just get the winter tires and use it with the stock rims that i currently have (or)

2) should i buy a new set of winter rims and tires...?

what's the pros and cons..? if i just use the stock rims that i currently have ...do you guys think it will be a pain to remove the stock tires first .. then mount the winter tires every winter?? if i get a new set of winter rims and tires it will be easier to just remove the stock rims/tires and put on winter rim/tires ...

what do you guys think i should do?

Thanks

I would just buy the tires and swap them out every winter season. That is if you are not planning to upgrade your wheels for the nicer weather.

Me personally, I am buying some Blizzaks that I will throw on my stock rims late November. Come Spring I am going to buy a nice set of new wheels and just keep the Winter/Stock wheels for the winter months.

I am stopped on extra set of all-season tires/rims for winter driving on my X. In very bad weather I will drive my Jeep with blizzak's
With rims is always better for me, I could install myself and no need of paying for mount and balance twice a year. Also having extra set of rims with winter tires will protect you from scratched rims by mechanics while mount/unmount.

I was going to get a set of winter tires and cheap rims but by the time you add the TPMS (unless you don't mind the Low tire alarm every time you turn the key) and all the hassle of finding rims with the right clearance for the Sport model it was simpler to just swap the tires twice a year.

I went with Blizzaks last year and just swapped them on my stock rims. I guess the right way and most expensive would be:

Upgrade stock rims and buy a new set of TMPS sensors for them
Summer tires on new rims, winter tires on stock rims
Each tire swap would require a dealer visit for a TPMS resync.

I got an extra set of wheels and TPMS for my winter tires. I just wanted to avoid getting my wheels scratched during the mounting/unmounting process.

I'm going to swap out the stock wheels to Hanook W409s for winter and then buy nicer rims for the stock all-season tires.

I did this same thing. I have two identical sets of stock 19' rims; one set has Blizzak LM-60s, the other have Potenza RE050's. I can swap them out in my garage very easily (even for a weekend if the weather's going to radically change for a short period of time), and the TPMS don't need to be reprogrammed anymore. It costs a little more on the front end, but the flexibility is SOOO worth it!
