6MT and throttle lag?

Ok, so a bunch of different people are experiencing the same "lag" in acceleration that I've noticed. Long story short, hit the pedal and the car just hangs for a second or so before accelerating. Does not seem to matter if it is partial or full throttle.

Anyone with a 6MT ever experience this? I would guess you wouldn't notice it from a stop since you have to bring the revs up first.

Infiniti altered the throttle tip-in of the G after the 07 model because people were complaining it was too aggressive. I like to think of my G as a lazy fat cat compared to our IS350 which is more like an energetic dog....

Not really an issue on the Vert 6MT - sure there is a split second of lag which I would characterize as "normal" but nothing like you describe as a second or so... WTF?

Yeah the A/T sucks just because of that IMO...when I got a loaner A/T I couldn't stand that lag. It's not even close to that in the 6M/T but there is a small lag. However after getting tuned even that tiny lag went away and now it is instantaneously responsive

the grounding kit only helps on A/T's...it won't do jack on the M/T. the lag on the M/T really isn't bad at all...but after a tune when it's totally gone you can definitely notice a difference

I really dont see what you guys are talking about. With my 6MT if im in a gear getting ready to take off when my foot hits the floor the car goes! no lag no nothing. very responsive. and this was before turbos and tune.

What tune did you get for your car? Is a custom tune or a "canned" tune?

They are talking about throttle tip-in. Not too long ago, the accelerator pedal was connected to the throttle body plate by a throttle cable. There was very little (if any) lag between the movement of the pedal and the throttle plate. In fact, if there was any lag, it could easily be taken up by removing the slack in the cable.

Today, it's all electronics....there's no direct linkage these days. So most manufacturers will build a bit of a buffer into their throttle control. That's great for smooth-as-butter driving, but not so much for guys that want that direct connection feel. That's also probably the reason the 6MT cars don't have much lag on the throttle tip-in. It is barely even noticeable in my car.

Hello,
New to the threads and a proud owner of a 2008 G37 Sport Coupe. I just wanted to know how much of the VDC plays a role in potential lag or hesitation.
Infiniti states this is a integrated safety feature?
"Vehicle Dynamic Control should remain on while driving except when the driver is removing the car from mud or snow. When turning the INFINITI Vehicle Dynamic Control off, you push the VDC button & it will light up. When you turn off and restart your vehicle, it will automatically turn the VDC system back on."
I kinda wonder how this ties into the ECU learning our driving patterns or if it even factors it in?

I also found a few mods I'm looking to get in the near future this is a the top of the list and so far most reviews and videos have been positive.
