Pillar creak – I hear it on the road sometimes and always when going up and down my driveway.
Windshield popping noise – I’m starting to get this now. Its intermittent making it very hard to track down.
Muffler rattle – muffler replaced.
Scary transmission issue – has happened on several occasions where the car will not shift into second with 75-85% throttle. Rev’s will soar but the car just stays put.
From day one the windshield wipers skipped.
Though I have the bubble in my seats it’s not an issue to me.
Headliner creaking – resolved by dealer.
ICC working with the wiper on. – not sure I actually want the dealer to fix that one.
Do I LOVE this car? Yes I do but quality wise however its another matter. I’ve have extensive seat time in an 08FX and I can say that there are NO squeaks or rattles anywhere to be heard, so it seems like a such a shame that the second generation version of the G should not be so endowed.

Get your noise fixed and you'll have a better appreciation for the car.

Mike can you point out that TSB link for this because I can not find a TSB only a few complaint threads. And if you read those threads most dealerships are not fixing this... AND when they are I'm reading reports of the bubble coming back. That tells me it hasnt been fixed. 2 years later WTF? Shame on you Infiniti!

Your issues with the a-pillar and the windshield are likely fixable. Have them disassemble the cowl, relube it, and voila! No more windshield and likely A-pillar noise. Remember that the windshield area is prone to echoes so it is very challenging to say that the a-pillar noise you hear is independent of the windshield noise.

Again, I'm not talking about the performance and I'm not trying to compare them in performance. And yes, I know my G has much better performance than my RX330.
I'm just disappointed that my G doesn't have the same level of quality, or should I say the interior quality in terms of creaks, squeaks or noises, as my RX330.

No issues here after 2 years of ownership...no rattling, creaking, popping...not even the dreaded seat bubble issue...although I took measures to prevent that issue from ever becoming one.

I feel people are getting the wrong impression here, yes we may be bickering about all these problems with our cars however we all can agree to the fact that there was a reason why we got this car in the first place, I still see my car from far away parked and it looks sexy as hell, I love the looks, love the stock wheels (best oem wheels out there), love the amenities such as back up camera and etc. If you look at it dollar to dollar then yes its a great deal.
My thing is that the quality is sorta there, however it still lacks the finesse, something you would find in German cars. Still, I love this car, I will keep bringing it back to the stealership for its problems until they are all gone (which I dont see happening). It is what it is.

I do not have the A-pillar creak but I do have the windshield popping noise intermittently. I got my muffler replaced when it started rattling and I have no noises coming from the rear. I do have the seat bubble but my car is 2 years old and has over 35k miles so I doubt the dealer will do anything about it. My newest noise is the sunglass holder rattling. My battery seems as though it may be on the way out too. Hope this helps...

21K and a few minor issues. I have bubbling seat but it doesn't bother me. I also had the creaking windshield, but a little wd-40 and it went away. I had the rattling mufflers, but the dealer replaced it under warranty. Have the engine knocking noise, but switching to eneos oil should fix that. I still have the squeezing noise from the brakes in reverse, but I don't mind that. All these "problems" I have had are more like annoyances. No actual problems that effect the cars performance.

things I dislike
1. Seats are hard as a bench, they bubble and stretch
2. trunk doesn't close tightly and sit flush
3. Creeks like a btch, then ticks like crazy when it shuts off
4. Throttle lag and random 'jerks' blow hard
that's it for now, besides those annoying issues I love the car.

I actually love my G even though I'm not driving it right now (hint in Korea for teaching) but though I have some small rattles in my car I love my G because it still beats driving something worse.

This is exactly why I never purchase a 1st production year (hell, even a 2nd production year) model, although I did purchase an '04 G35 so....I may be in the market for either a 2010 or a 2011 model G37 depending on what options they offer.
I have heard that the 2010 European spec G37 will get among other things, a special "sound dampening" package added at about 70 extra lbs of weight. This package is mainly what separates the Europe-bound G37 from the US-bound G37s based on the idea that Americans prefer quick "get-up-and-go" for short distances mentality whereas, Europeans prefer extended high speed driving.
I wonder if the parts that make up this option will be available stateside? I would love to have an absolutely quiet ride at the expense of 70 extra pounds.

I removed the cover that overlaps onto the windshield. I basically wd-40'd the bottom of the windshield and in between the cover piece. I found a load of dirt and sand in between the cover and windshield. As someone on the forum said, the dealer will remove the cover and relube the windshield piece (sorry forgot what it was called.. Brainfart..).

Why don't we just do away with the 2 door model, go four door and add rear power seats and a more supple suspension and other germaphile accoutrements and call it a mercedes??? :sarcasm: they shoulda sold this car as a nissan skyline stateside. It would end the confusion and ward off brand ******... Posts like this anger me.
This is a SKYLINE!!! This is NOT A LUXURY CAR! It was never meant to be a luxury car!
They added a few luxury features to the car to be able to carry the infiniti name respectably. Its providing that marginal luxury to hold a name. This is a NISSAN! SKYLINE...
WITH EX, M , AND FX models to compete more on the luxury end. Why not buy those?
the 3.5 and 3.7 models on those cars have the same engines as G models but have lower HP. Do you know why??? They were tuned to have smoother more supple rides! The exhaust notes are quieter and the tranny response is smoother... y cuz those are luxury sport.
I partially blame nissan for the way they advertise the G, but I still blame more the consumer for not doing research nor understanding the history of a car. Everyone wants to compare the G to a lexus but the lexus has no performance coupe. And that SC430 thing is a joke... cuz if it was half a sports car. You guys would own that and not a "G".
As far as your squeaks and rattles go. These are plant built cars. Not handbuilt. Its gonna happen. So just go to the dealer and let them work there magic. As far as bubbling. U guys got a point. I personally don't hav any of these problems yet but if it happens that my seat bubbles... I'm choppin heads. I haven't heard the noises that come from no one knows yet but I heard these complaints in the z forum and they discovered it to be ECU whine. You might want to check and see if this is the issue. Cuz if it is? They should have a tsb for it cuz they recently served a tsb on the Z for it. N if they haven't served infiniti yet? This will be a good platform to begin complaining from. But find out 1st if your unknown noise is ECU whine.
In the end guys, you can't take a 45k pure luxury car and compare it to a 45k sports coupe with thousands of dollars of performance upgrades. The 45k pure lux doesn't have the extra thousands of dollars in performance upgrades. So the 45k pure lux car compensated with more luxury. Makes sense to me. The 45k G will run circles around a 45k lexus. Its not done by magic. Its done by investing money more in performance than luxury.
If u wanted a better fit and finish. U coulda went BMW? The extra luxury also reflects in the extra $7k. In the end u get what u pay for. When I got the G. The 1st thing I noticed is the carpet is the same quality as my altima... lol
But then I drove it. I felt where the 14k difference was. And if any of you come from a G35 like I did. U can see and feel the huge difference in quality from the previous G35. This car is slightly overpriced for its quality. But I got mine brand new during the winter sales event for $37.7k sport/premium/ brake pads/body colorspoiler/accesory pkg. If price vs quality was an issue, you shoulda waited like me. Infiniti does the same sale every year with the same savings n the same low interest rates.
Use your warraties guys... that's what its there for. And if u get resistance from nissan/ infiniti let us kno on the forum so we can all make noise for the cause. Its that simple.
