Is the G37 a good car for the mountains and track?

Hi Everyone. I just registered on this forum after test driving the car.

Gorgeous car, feels great (a bit heavy), and has good pick up. Unfortunately, I was only able to test drive it in city streets. So no curves. Performance wise, there's two things that I'm looking to get out of this car. So I'd like to hear the some feedback from current G37 owners.

One is open-track. I've only read that it's a great car for open-track. Very linear response, which is the same impression I got during the test drive. So even though it's heavy, I think this car could be fun on the track.

Two, and more importantly, I like driving up the mountain a lot. I love the curvy roads. I do that about twice a week. Is this a good car for that? I drove the 370Z and I loved that car! It's an awesome car, and so much fun to drive up the mountain roads... but it's a two-seater.

So current owners, could you please share some feedback on whether you think this car would be good for curvy mountain roads? Thank you.

did you test a sport version or non sport.

I added hotchkis sway bars to my non-sport and it made a huge difference... car feels planted and you don't feel the heavyness as much..

It's was the top package. The package names are different in Japan, but I guess it's the same as the US' G37S.

awesome video dude. i really enjoyed it.
i think weight hurts it a little, plus you might need an aftermarket oil cooler if you'r gonna trash it hard.

Wezbian, great video...ready set go...
Stickier tires than stock is suggested, and i wish for a little more weight in back as it seems to have plenty of power to break free, anytime, anyplace, even with the VDC on. Power is quite adequate and the 5AT takes care of itself well...very aggressive (higher rpm's) if placed in Sport mode.

I don't want an automatic. 6spd manual for me.

This was a shameless plug for my youtube account, but check out the other videos of us up in the mountains on my account.

Video is done well but the cars seems slow in the videos.

I don't really see any videos of serious driving with drifting and fish tailing( on real streets not a track or parking lot like a lot of videos at youtube)... The G fishies beautifully Wait to you guys see my video I'm working on...don't know if I could post it here lol.
