My baby's hurt badly...I hate california drivers

Even though I am a california driver...atleast I look before I turn left in front of someone coming the other way. So last week I was driving south on the streets and was only cruising around 35mph when a car tried to turn left right in front of me. As they saw me coming, they stopped part way into the turn and so I swerve to my right to avoid them only to hit another car on my right. Either way, an accident was going to occur. Maybe I should have just gone straight and hit the SUV instead of swerving. Oh well...

As I drove to park to look at my baby and see if everyone in the car I hit was alright, the driver that started it all (an SUV) drove away. The Nerve! PUNK! Initial estimates are $5,200 to fix. ARG!!!!

Here is one picture from the adjuster.

So what is a diminished value claim I've been hearing people talk about?

Always get the plates of vehicles involved as fast as possible, uninsured motorist are all over Cali, I'm an insurance agent and I have a pretty good idea from the numbers of people i talk to daily, most in Cali, pay for one month get an ID card and then let it lapse, wait until the DMV revokes there registration and then they buy one month again and start the whole process over again.

So what happen when something like this happen, in the case where the person who started the accident drove away?

I had an accident, acutally, an accident happened to me where somebody slammed in to my car while it was parked. They drove off, and fled the scene....There is nothing you can do but just talk to your insurance agent and see what they say.

It will be a not at fault accident, he will have to pay his collision deductible, but won't have a premium increase at renewal, as the accident is listed as a not-at-fault. If he got a license plate, and it was determined the other driver was uninsured or under insured, his claim would have been paid using the Collision deductible waiver. no charge to him, or it would have been determined at fault on the other driver and paid strictly from the other parties policy.

Same type of claim, not at fault collision, you had to pay your deductible and that was all, huh? No premium increase, or at least it shouldn't have.
