Dealer's tire shine stained my splash guards!
 

I just picked up a ivory pearl G37S 2 days ago. I picked the car up in the evening and it looked beautiful. The next morning I looked at it and all of the splash guards were stained yellow. After thinking about it for 2 minutes I realized it was the tire shine the dealer used when they cleaned the car. I went back to the dealer that day and spoke to the GM and the service manager. They really didnt seem like they wanted to help and after making a big deal out of it they finally agreed to change the splash guards in 2 weeks if the yellow doesnt fade away (which it won't.) Bottom line watch what kind of tire shine you use on the white g, and dont go to Ramsey infiniti in NJ.

that sucks. i'd say to stay away from silicone based tire treatments. water based may not last as long, but it won't stain either your car or your garage as mentioned above.

Threaten to bomb them on the survey Infiniti sends out. They will change their tune quick.

good idea. I just cant believe I spent $45,000 and theyre making a big deal about swapping splash guards for $200, when they messed up.

Thats why they call them splash guards not mud flaps....

Try Menzernas polish to get the stain off. If it is not too set in Mcguires paint cleaner may work.

this happened to me everytime I put any kind of tire shine products on my IP coupe that I used to have. No matter what kind, from my dealer, spray on's from stores, car washes ETC. I had to really compound it out the first time it happened.

After I learned of this, everytime I would wash the car, I would just drive it normally after the wash for however long, and when I get out just wipe down the residues on whatever parts it touched. Only thing that worked for me.
