Lubricating roof seals

So, how do folks go about lubricating the rubber seals on their roof? I have a bottle of Gummipfledge but I'm hesitant to stop the roof while "mid-open" to fully expose the rubber seals between the panels to clean and lubricate them. What are some methods folks on here use (besides the stealership).

Thanks.

I have stopped the roof mid cycle but I always leave the engine running and the parking brake on. Haven't had an issue yet.
