Where is the spare tire?

I just bought a 2013 G37 IPS Convertible. I've been working my way through the owners manual and trying to familiarize myself with this car. When I read about the spare tire, it seems that some models came with a battery operated compressor and a can of sealer instead of a spare tire. I have not been able to find either in my car.
Did the convertible come with a spare tire? I don't know were it would fit. If it only came with the compressor, where was is stored?
But the way, this may be my most favorite car ever!

Congrats on your new G37 IPS convertible! No room for a spare in this car so always check your tires for nails etc.before long trips and carry a can of tire sealant for emergencies.

Oh, and to acknowledge your prior statement, my convertible has absolutely been one of my most favorite cars ever as well! So, Ditto club has started!

On long trips I carry a traditional rope plug kit and air compressor (along with some tools to install). Viair makes a nice compressor that runs directly off the battery - . No worries about blowing cigarette lighter fuse. Hose/cable is plenty long to reach all 4 tires.

You are correct in that some model years had the full size spare and some had the compressor. I have a 2011 and it came with the compressor. I went ahead and pieced together the parts for a full sized spare complete with tire, rim, jack, tools and mounting bracket.

So, it is possible to have a spare tire in a convertible? Can you put the top down with the spare on board?

It’s a space saver and it fits under the boot floor, doesn’t impede the tops operation at all

Yep, fits under the boot floor. I've got a space saver tire, though I wouldn't mind the compressor and sealant. Less weight.

You assume you will experience only punctures. A more catastrophic tire failure will leave you stranded.

In the event of a catastrophic tire failure, I’m okay with getting a tow. No assumptions here.

Unfortunately, I keep my spare tire around my waste.

^^Better for that spare tire to be in the waste than waist.... :)
