I just ordered the bypass sensor. Any other tips on installing it? also anything I need to reset after I disconnect the battery to the vehicle. Thx for the photo. I don't think I can reach it with out unbolting the seat.

2010 G37 convertible airbag occupancy sensor emulator installation

So I had recently been experiencing the dreaded airbag occupancy sensor failure in the passenger seat of my 2009 G37 Convertible, and instead of paying the ludicrous fee for the fix at a dealership decided to order one of those occupancy sensor emulators and install that. After receiving my emulator from airbag360 I then went to perform the installation per the instructions I had, and it was at this point that I realized the instructions I was seeing everywhere were not going to work. This ended up being because apparently the location of the plug is different in the convertible seats due to the ventilation system. No amount of searching turned up someone else having tackled this problem, so in the name of correcting that issue I've decided to let my pain be someone else's gain.

If you're a convertible owner that is trying to install an occupancy sensor emulator so that your passenger will be safe and actually get an airbag in the event of a collision then let this photo be an indicator of where that sensor is located. All of the instructions I had were having me look at the back of the seat which was just a bunch of plastic and intake fan for the ventilation system. Instead I ended up unbolting the seat and finding out that I probably could've reached it without having to do all that work. It was right up front.

***Edit for clarification***
The yellow arrow points to where I believe the connector originally sat in the seat(It's been almost a year, and I did the job in a rush, so I can't remember exactly). The red box is the connector dangling after I plugged it into the emulator for testing. Once it passed I slipped the emulator up in between some of the padding and bracing where I presume it still resides(I have since sold the car and now drive a Q50 Hybrid).

I have to remove the bundle white wire tie in order to access to the air bag sensor connector located behind it.

The sensor connector removed. Note the wire colors.

Plug it to the emulator. Use cale ties to secure the emulator and cables in place.

I installed the bypass sensor and it works great. You did get an indicator that the occupant needs to wear their seat belt. i just bought a seat belt bypass to use when it's not occupied.

Thank you to all of the previous posters on the Airbag360 bypass. I purchased one for my ‘13 vert which started throwing a b1018 code.
Pulling the seat was the easiest option and all was buttoned up within 30 minutes.

Attached and ready to test.

Ready to bolt the seat back

are you saying that just disconnecting the seatbelt buckle connector under the seat will bypass the seatbelt light?

i tried it when installing mine...it worked BUT if you do so, the auto slide button on the seat shoulder will not work anymore cause it's connected with the seatbelt mecanism.

Hi all, turns out this is now my latest project in my 2012 vert. Recently got same answer as everyone else from dealer and no answer from Infiniti customer service, though they did send a survey asking how they did. So went to airbag 360 website and saw several Nissan Airbag 360 emulator for different model cars that all looked identical and none for G37. Sent email inquiry and the asked for chassis code L32 or L33 (pretty sure my car is a V36 chassis but correct me if I'm wrong) Anyone know which one to order, or if it even matters? Thanks.

Technically, the 'Vert is designated as "HV36" but that is not really relevant.

This seems to be the one you need: Airbag360/G37. I'd shoot them a email just to verify it is the right one before you buy it.

Aha! Thanks so much for the info. Looking forward to a little less guilt knowing my passenger will have an airbag - the little things.
