Convertible top issues

I have a 2010 Infiniti G37 convertible with 40k on it. A few times now the top gets stuck, mostly right before the top latches. Recently I closed it at night and watched it say roof closed, got in the next morning and it kept telling me "roof in operation" along with an annoying beep that went on every time I got past 5 mph. I tried unlocking and locking the doors and restarting the vehicle numerous times (which is usually fixes it but today did not work). I work at a dealership so later on in the day I get in and try again before I brought it over to my shop to see what's going on. Of course it works and everything is fine. I decide to scan it on our Autel and sure enough I have three faults on the convertible top. The codes were: B1739: hydraulic state 9 (time out) U0140: Local comm-1 and B1783: hydraulic state incorrect. Has anyone had this issue, and if so what was your fix? At first I was thinking a sensor but now I'm thinking it might be something else. Thanks in advance.

Hydraulic pump seems to be a common point of failure for these cars.
Some people had luck sourcing the pump separately and having the dealer install it between 1-2k. Otherwise it's a 6k+ job.

Emergency trunk release loose?

My top got stuck half way open. Had the “Trunk Open” warning displayed. Searched internet for solution. Had an “aha” moment and found that emergency trunk release handle was out of its holder. I clipped it back in and the roof works properly.

Decided to bite the bullet and buy an extended warranty on the convertible as reading this makes me cringe. 3 year 100K miles with a deductible of $100

That's what we did as well. You'll have a blast with this car. Always keep a hat and sun block around.

Curious- who did you get the extended warranty from and how long in time and miles?

Thanks.

Iirc, it was one of the local dealer chains like Hendrick or something similar. In hindsight, I should've probably done more research..

I have an issue with my top. It opens and closes as it should however; when we turn the car off and back on, it shows the roof operation in cycle. I have to hold "close" momentarily for the cycle to complete. You can hear motors running & stuff. But every time it gets turned off and back on again, it recycles the same issue. It thinks its cycle isnt complete. I'm thinking a sensor. ? Anybody have this issue?
