Headline hanging loose from rear passenger side

Hello vert owners,
Last week I noticed that the headliner was hanging loose from the rear passenger side corner area in my 2010 G37 vert. Upon inspection, I noticed that a plastic clip on the headliner cloth part looks like as if it snapped and the elastic string is broken.
Planning on taking it it in the service people but seems like they are known to charge ridiculous $$$ for anything to do with the top region.
Do you guys have any suggestions for self fix or any other suggestion as to what might have happened and how it can be fixed?

Thanks!
R

I had a similar problem, I was luckly to find the broken clip and was able to super glue it back together. After that I looked on the other side to see where the clip attached and how it attached to the string. Since the cord was elastic, I was able to tie it together with the clip and super glued the knot. I think I also glued the clip to the string (too many years ago to be sure of that). Hope that helps.

I had the same issue with a snapped elastic cord. My car was still under warranty. So, the dealer fixed it at no charge and also took that opportunity to install the ITB for rattles in the top (even though I had no rattles). Great service at Peninsula Infiniti in Calif.

Are the cord sets available as an orderable part?
