G37 Convertible Lowering Database
So as the title says. I'll post up some reference posts from past lowered vehicles. If you lowered your vert please also post the pics and specs.
-What suspension are you dropped on? -What's your ride height (the measurement from the ground to the highest point of your fender opening in the center)? -What are your wheel and tire sizes/offsets? -Do you rub? -Is your drop even side to side? For reference: G37 Coupe stock ride height (measured from level ground to highest point of fender): Front: 28.15" sport, 28.03" non sport Rear: 27.76" sport, 27.64" non sport It is the same I think for the vert I think Will confirm later. |

I think eibach's.....they drop it too low front: eibach pro (4months after) driver side front height 26.3 inches passenger side front height 26.5 inches rear: coupe OEM spring (9days after) driver side rear height 26.8 inches passenger side rear height 26.9 inches ride quality is much better then eibach.. I'm going to get the rear alignment check in next week and let you know camber specs. quick update on 04-26-11 front: eibach pro (9months after) driver side front height 25.9. inches passenger side front height 26.2 inches rear: coupe OEM spring (5months after) driver side rear height 26.5 inches passenger side rear height 26.7 inches and i lost alignment spec (work sheet).they r out of specs but not too bad. This setup evens out the eibach drop for the rear wheels I think. |

Eibach's Pro Kit 1.2 front .8 rear. PN-6388.140 made for G37 coupes. the AWD springs might work better for ride quality but these ride pretty good on the way home. Hey Cereal,Do you know of anyone that has used the KW3 coilovers on a vert yet.I just purchased a set.The vert KW3's are the same kit as the coupe and the 370z.KW told me that the extra weight will not make the rear drop any more then a coupe because they use progressive spring.I have not installed then yet because I am waiting for my wheel to be built.I might go ahead and install them this week just to see how they work out.Just hate to lower it with stock wheels.

Eibachs and Vossen CV1s. I'm seeing a theme here.

I do not. But if you do give it a go definitely share pics. The coupe struts may be too long for the rear though, but I don't know if that would be the case for the KWs.

The rears sometime rub the front of the liner (towards the driver side door). However the top of the liner is cut, so no rubbing when it cambers in at the top of the wheel well. See you tube videos. These were with the falkens I think. https://www.myg37.com/forums/video-s...-whats-up.html |
Bump.. form new lowered verts and I suggest linking photos to photobucket.
On BC coilovers and vossens.

Hey guys!
New to the forum. Might be getting an 11 37s vert tomorrow. Looking to change the wheels and maybe lower it. Can yall give me some info ? I see something about coupe rear springs? And what are the offsets for the vert? I want nice, square, meaty setups. No stretchy tire. No camber. No "stanced". Not sure if 20" is too big to go to keep performance and comfort. i'm guessing 19 is the way to go ? |

Not sure if 20" is too big to go to keep performance and comfort. i'm guessing 19 is the way to go ? What I know so far (from experience) about lowering this car... Eibach Springs lower too much in the rear (or not enough in the front depending on how you look at it), and as far as I know, nobody makes camber arms (completely different parts for the vert versus the regular coupe). Although one guy on here had some custom fabricated. For ride comfort almost nothing beats stock springs and stock wheels/tires, but if you want a more custom/aggressive look or are looking for a higher level of performance, then obviously, those things need to change. My current wheel/suspension setup: Wheels: http://www.nicheroadwheels.com/vicenza-m154-w-16011.htm Springs: Eibach Pro-Kit Lowering Springs - Set of Four Springs 6388.140 EIB6388140 | STILLEN Sway Bars (front and rear on middle setting): STILLEN Adjustable Front & Rear Sway Bar Kit 304375 | STILLEN Rear Spacers: H&R 20.0mm DRM Type TRAK+ Wheel Spacers - Black 4065663SW HR4065663SW | STILLEN Car with no rear spacers, eibach front, stock springs in the back (stinkbug)... BC Racing coilovers, SPC front arms, SPC bolts (two pairs) rear. -2.1 deg camber |
Note for the rear, I had to trim a little bit of the fender liner and bumper bracket, but not much.
Front rubs a little bit on dips on the fender liner. Next time I remove the front wheels, will trim those front liners too. |
Megan Racing rear control arms
Hey guys, I currently have Coilovers in the front and the coupe rear springs in the rears. I have the SPC Cam bolts, two bolts for each side to install. I know that the rear sway bar has to removed to widen the slots for the cam bolts. My rears currently have a camber of - 2.8 and the cam bolts allow adjustment +/- 2.
I saw a post once that a member said that the Megan racing rear control arms work on the vert. He said he spoke to sales reps at Megan Racing to confirm. He mentioned the cheaper Godspeed rear control arms might work as well. Anyone have info on if either will work?? I would rather install rear upper control arms rather than the cam bolts, for easier installation and more adjustment. Plus the labor cost of installation of the cam bolts is going to cost almost as much as rear upper control arms... Thanks!! https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.myg...6c3ea96899.jpg |
