54k!? WTF? Edmunds full review
I have not followed the release of the convertible that much so maybe this is just a surprise to me and hopefully not a repost. $54k seems like a lot for a G convertible especially since they are trying to compete with the 3 series convertible.

I got my G37 Oct 07 for around 42 or 43k. At the time, I was driving an 04 g35 6spd sdn. The choice was between the 335 and the g37 and I test drove both of them before I made a decision. The 335 was faster than the G37. The 335 I test drove was a stick and the G was an auto. I was hoping the 6spd would have more push. It did. However, it was not that much more than the auto. There were 3 reasons I did not buy the 335:
1. Price
2. the car I wanted was not on any lot in FL and I would have to order, wait, etc
3. Multiple mechanical and electrical problems people were having.
I guess what I am trying to say is that I did not expect the G vert to cost that much. I was thinking it would be fully loaded for less than $50k. I just priced an 09 g37 6spd cpe out at 45610 msrp. The only two options I did not include are active steer and vehicle impact sensor. I consider my G and the one I priced out to be fully loaded as I did not want/need the other two options. Maybe I am wrong.
Verts are not my thing. I am not knocking anyone that has/wants one, but it is not me. I think the G has done so well is b/c it is a close match to 3 series w/ more money in your pocket. Also, I priced out the 09 335 vert (the way I would want it) and it came out to a little under $62k. Again, the price of the G totally caught me off guard but it is less than the 335
I was surprised w/ the 0-60 time as I was expected it to be slightly slower.
I added all the options to an 09 6spd cpe and I only got 47040. How are you guys getting $50k? I am assuming it is the journey?

This is the convertible - starts at around mid $40k(let's say 45,000). Let's say you get the Sport. Add another 2k. Add all the options. It'll leave you around the $52-57K range.

You can get a new M3 for $61K.......
My G37 Sport was $38,800 with Prem Package, illuminated kickplates, splash guards, carpeted trunk mat, and cargo net. Then went to Bass Pro Shop and got a Sony Nav-u for $300 instead of spending $2200 on the Infiniti Nav.

If you NEED a cam to back up with as small as the G is, you've got issues. Not to mention the cam has a much narrower field of view than turning your damn head around. I've got my 160GB iPod plugged in that isn't full, so another 10GB isn't going to do much for me. Would have been a waste of $2200, for me at least. Hell, that's a Nav-u, Fast Intentions Catback, and Injen/Stillen CAI for the price of a GPS, cam, and 10GB built in.

^ can't argue with that..
I just like the factory integration of the navi, which is why i bought it. Can i say it was worth the 2200? nah.. would i have done it again? yeah probably.

The camera is not a need but a want. It is a great thing to show off too! A camera makes it so much eisier I dont know how I ever lived without one. I dont use the music box either but I liked the option in the beginning. Also, I dont have to have more gadgets trying to take over my car and looking like crap with wires everywhere. We have a Garmin Nuvi 760 in our SUV and although it is top of the line, I still wouldnt trade it for my built-in one.
