Infiniti JX Concept Striptease Continues Ahead of Pebble Beach Reveal
Just the Facts:
The Infiniti JX concept was teased ahead of its global reveal on August 18 at the 2011 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance with the release of the first photograph of the crossover.
The slow unveiling of the Infiniti JX concept will continue with the release of seven images on Infiniti's Facebook page every Thursday over the next seven weeks.
The production version of the 2013 Infiniti JX will debut at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show in November.
FRANKLIN, Tennessee — The Infiniti JX concept was teased ahead of its global reveal on August 18 at the 2011 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance with the release of the first photograph of the crossover.
The image provides a somewhat clearer view of the seven-passenger crossover, going beyond a sketch of the vehicle released in April. It shows the left front headlight and the JX concept's sculptural side profile. The production Infiniti JX goes on sale in spring 2012.
"Families don't have many luxury vehicle options today," said Ben Poore, vice president of Infiniti Americas, in a statement that accompanied the photograph. "The new Infiniti JX will be the seven-passenger antidote to the ho-hum luxury crossovers that are out there right now."
The slow unveiling of the Infiniti JX concept will continue with the release of seven images on Infiniti's Facebook page every Thursday over the next seven weeks.
The Facebook page includes a chance to win a trip for two to join Infiniti's event at the Pebble Beach Concours.
The Infiniti JX is inspired by the Infiniti Essence concept, a 592-horsepower luxury coupe concept that debuted at the 2009 Geneva Auto Show and featured a gas/electric hybrid drivetrain. The concept was characterized by a long hood, short rear deck and a wave profile on the sides.
Infiniti has yet to release powertrain details about the production JX. Infiniti has said the production JX will put a premium on seating flexibility.
Inside Line says: Infiniti is getting a lot of mileage out of the JX concept's bit-by-bit unveiling.

Would be funny if Infiniti's going to drop the "592hp essence engine" in the family crossover JX just to mess with us while leaving the G at 330hp. Would like to see everyone's reaction to that
Can see Infiniti marketing statement right now, "Infiniti enthusiasts have long desired an M3 fighter, and we have listened. Introducing the 592hp JX family crossover..."

I looked at both Acura's as well as the Merc two years ago and couldn't get a full size cooler in the back with the third row seats up. The only crossover suv that could do this was the Mazda CX9, So I bought a fully loaded one in '08 and haven't had any issues at all with it at all.
I mean, what's the point if you can't haul your family's stuff to the beach along with your family?
If the JX can fit at least a cooler in the back with the third row up, I'll be trading up for sure.
