When I rebuilt my G37x, the transmission cooler tube was wiggled several times and looked stressed. I put JB weld on it just to keep it from getting moved or bumped and it has been fine for 8 years now but I have some free time and want to fix some lingering issues on the car (rotten braces and a very small oil leak probably from when I had the timing cover off). I was looking at a new radiator but don't see any reasonably priced OEM style radiators, they are all 100% aluminum. I've had good luck with CSF on my Porsche but I see a lot of threads on this forum about the CSF radiators leaking on their G37 (Im looking at the CSF 3271). These seem to be older threads though, 2017-2020ish. Was this just a bad period or is there another brand I should go with? I see on the vendors site that TYC 13004 is just a little more and has a marking for being more popular. Any advise on which one to go with? I'm open to other brands if they are similarly priced.

I considered an external cooler for the transmission but then I'd have to run an inline thermostat or risk overcooling in the very cold winters and it just wasn't worth it for me. Also, the radiator is 17 years old at this point and probably not a bad idea to just replace it rather than bypassing it for the transmission.

Water leak in passenger side after battery replacement

ok so I had my battery replaced a while ago and my G developed a water leak that appeared to be coming from the. firewall or on the outside of the footwell on the passenger side. I tried taking it to multiple mechanics and nobody was able to fully solve the issue. One told me he was able to put some sort of shroud or something to help minimize the water and it probably stopped 70% of what had been coming in. I kind of accepted this as it wasn't a huge deal and I didn't have the money to take it to a dealership and have them tear it down to fully address the leak.

Well then fast forward to last week and where I live we had some crazy storms and rain almost every day for a week straight. Yesterday when I went to drive, I noticed the battery light (replaced again about 2 months ago) and the parking brake light on the dash were lit up. E brake was disengaged so I assumed maybe a bad sensor or something. About 15 minutes into the drive, my accelerator stopped working momentarily. I pulled over, shifted into neutral and it started working just fine, so I continued on my journey. After dinner, driving home I stalled the car and it wouldn't start. battery acted like it was fully drained. I called AAA for a jump, battery was showing enough power but I couldn't get the car to respond when pushing the start button. Windows wouldn't roll up the last little bit after doors were shut and while I turned my hazards on and they flashed on the dash, by the time the tow truck arrived, they were no longer flashing on the dash but still flashing on the outside of the car. Hazard button would not turn them off.

From what I've been reading it sounds like maybe the BCU got fried because of the water damage? Unsure though. I did some panic searching on Grok and it seems like the water issue isn't uncommon (battery placement is my only complaint on my beloved car haha) so im wondering if anybody has had any similar experiences. I had it towed to my mechanic who does really great work and I can trust him, and while I've had him look for the leak as well, he hasn't been able to find anything. So im hoping that if I can point him in the right direction or something, I might finally be able to get that resolved and I've accepted ill have to replace whatever got damaged but I just don't know what to do. Please, if anybody has any solid suggestions, I can't tell you how much id appreciate it. This is my favorite car I've ever owned, learned to drive manual on and I refuse to ever sell it or accept it over. Just hit 191,000 and it's still on the original clutch. Can't beat Infiniti engineering! Help me keep Alfred alive and thriving, he deserves better.

Hello my fellow VQ Drivers, about a 2 weeks ago l get off work start up my G and there is a brake+Battery light I went home next day got a new battery and alternator under warranty at Autozone.

Issue went away for about 2 days then came back.

Noticed corrosion on the positive battery terminal and positive terminal fuse (left the cover off an some moisture crept in), I replaced both issue went away for a week I also did my drive belt and checked tension. Issue came back yesterday cleaned the battery posts my grounds, checked voltage did voltage drop test. Was reading 14.3-14.7 any help or insight would be appreciated tired of throwing parts at it got a used oem alternator dirt cheap. gonna try that also changed the alternator wire that goes to the fusible link. The alternator nut that goes on the stud is snug. I truly don't know what the issue could be it now only comes on while driving usually under hard acceleration, and most times it will go away while still driving seems like it's not a consistent issue as it has also happened while I was just crusing. then went away a few minutes after. anyway if you read this I appreciate you and let me know if you ever had anything similar happen to your g37 and how you fixed it (2011 370z engine swapped (130k miles) last may (40k miles) 5 speed transmission as well)

Hi,

We currently own a 2009 Infiniti G37 A/T.
I don't know if it is a Viscous type or an open differential. However, we do know that it is not consistent at the track 60ft times, and we would like to upgrade it.

I have read that there are different options, but they are expensive, i.e., upgrade to Quaife, etc.

Are there any other more affordable options?

I know this has been asked and answered but my issue seems a little different and I have tried everything.
when it rains the reservoirs under the carpet in the front and back passenger side accumulate a lot of water. Seems mostly in the back the majority of water is, but I don’t know if it just runs back there? The thing is my top carpet stays dry. The car will not be driven just sitting outside and it rains and the back reservoir will have an inch of standing water under the carpet and front will be wet but not the same accumulation. I have re routed the sunroof drains down through the AC line so that is not the issue. Luckily the water is not up by the electrical stuff my passenger feet it is just under carpet. I don’t see really anything that indicates it’s coming through the door and my first question is if there was a fault somewhere in my door seal would that much water accumulate in that area when the car is just parked?
I have really checked everything I can find to check on this. Doesn’t appear to be cabin air fitting. And it’s definitely not coolant.
so please, I have been fighting this for weeks and I live in Portland so I can’t even drive the car and it’s completely taken apart at this time.
should I just do door seals as next step? It’s 200 so if you think that wouldn’t be the issue please let me know, I’d rather not spend that much if that wouldn’t cause this issue.
again thanks for looking.
